I wasn't sure where to put this but it involved a couple of 1/1000's so here goes a quick story. I took my son to DC last night to meet Randy Orton at the DC auto show and get a couple of 1/1000's autographed. Well the session was supposed to start at 6 so we got there at about 430 and there was already about 500 people in front of us. Randy Orton was spending a lot of time addressing the fans even talked to people's friends and stuff on there phones. Well this was fine until about 750 ( The session was scheduled to end at 8) when security came and shut the line down about 10 people in front of me. I thought the crowd was getting ready to riot there was about 1000 people behind me by now. Thankfully Randy heard the commotion and went off on the securtiy guys and said he would stay until every one in line got there autograph. Granted they sped us through after that, no pics and no tiime for questions. My son was pretty upset about that because when he finds out we're going to these auto sessions he thinks for weeks for his perfect question. I explained to him that Randy Orton didn't have to stay for us and he is now my favorite wrestler. So kudos to Orton and thanks for reading my long rant here.

Yes while I don't think this goes here that is an awesome story. I'm glad to hear he stayed for everyone, because I've read so many stories over the years were he's been an @$$ to his fans so it's good to see he seems to be growing up. Glad your son got to meet him. And I think if you take a pic or two of the signed figures it would belong here.

Firstly, that was kick-ass of Randy to stick around.
Second, I had a situation almost exactly identical to that at Mayhem Fest 2008, during the Machine Head meet and greet. There was probably 200 people in line in front of me before MH got out there, and the signings were only 45 minutes. Anyways, my cousin and I were the very next ones in line, and security said they were cutting the signings off, and I said - intentionally loud enough to the band could hear me - "Are you serious? You're telling me I can't go meet them when they're right there?" And Robb Flynn, God bless him, looked over at my cousin and I and motioned us over and said "We're not leaving anytime soon, so come on over here". In the end, I ended up with a poster signed and the tour program signed, plus a picture of myself with each band member. And to this day, why Machine Head is one of the tops on my list of favorite bands ever, because of the graciousness they showed me that day.

Same thing happened to me at an Edge autograph signing ... security was about to send people home, and Edge told them to keep sending people. And just like Orton, he had to keep the line moving, but he still signed everything and made small chat.
I look forward to seeing your pictures when you get the chance....

good to hear. I've seen 1/1000's of Cena, Big Show, Kofi and some others. But the only one I felt the need to buy was the Orton 1/1000 from the WM series. It was number 0314 and I went to a WM that was on March 14 (3/14). That's pretty cool that you got some signed.

See, you got there an hour and a half early and still didn't up by the time it was supposed to end. I'm glad you got to go and security are real dicks most of the time.

Yeah the first time I met Rob he came back out of his way to sign stuff and talk to us. Then the next time I met him he invited us to their video shoot. And the last time I saw them they took shots of this mexican bathtub whiskey we had before the show. Good times. And yeah, Orton is the crap. If I met him I would take a duffel bag for him to sign.

Orton did the same thing when he was back here in St Louis. He really does appreciate his fans & even talked to some of us even when the a**holes at Slackers was trying to rush people through when he was trying to talk

I thought that also, but then I thought maybe he went to a past Wrestlemania that was held on March 14?

I had a similar experience at a Torrie Wilson signing. It was at an FYE in a local mall.
I got over early enough where there was only 10, 15 people in front of me. The people in front and in back of me were also nice enough to save my spot in line while I ran to CVS and grabbed a magazine. (that coincidentally had a divas pictorial, score) So Torrie comes by and sits down.
At this point, I was stoked. At the time, she was one of the few WWE personalities that I'd gotten the chance to meet. Well, before the first person came up, two FYE employees stepped in front of the lovely Ms. Wilson and said that Torrie will only sign this certain Divas DVD they were selling at the time. To make things worse, you had to buy it there. Even if someone had it previously and brought it for her to sign, they wouldn't have it. Completely recockulous. Well I was just about to leave -- I couldn't justify spending 20+ dollars on a Divas DVD that I didn't want just to get her autograph on top of the magazine I'd just bought.
Fortunately, Torrie stood up and announced that she hadn't agreed to that and that she'd be happy to sign whatever was put in front of her. Say what you will about her, but Torrie's a class act and I'm glad I had the chance to meet her.

That is suck a ed up story on the manager of FYE's part. them, they are so overpriced. Torrie was so cool to announce that she would sign whatever for her loyal fans. I hate when people try to dictate what the wrestlers can and can't sign. It should be their choice.
