Flair tells Steiner that since he wants Dustin Rhodes tonight, the he will get him and the title will be on the line. Steiner cuts Flair off and says he doesn’t want any restrictions in his match. After thinking it over for a moment, Flair decides that tonight it will be a bunkhouse brawl match! Steiner is nodding his head in the ring, and that is when Dustin Rhodes slides in the ring from behind and has a cow bell. Flair tells Steiner that “you always have to be paying attention when you are the champion.” Steiner walks backwards and feels someone behind him. I almost forgot about Danny Doring's moves' names. lol CM Punk to ECW, eh? That'll be pretty cool. This is when he was just starting out, so it'll be interesting to see what you'll do with him here. Good buildup for Tajiri vs. RVD Balls gets a title shot? Hm, unless I mised something, I'm not sure about that.

Going to reply on the last three shows sir. Hopefully I can stick with this crap!
Thunder - 1/17/2001 Alright, haven't read in awhile, so let's see where you've gone sir. WCW was pretty much dead in my book around this time, so this should be interesting. Definite cool opening segment where Rhodes will get his shot at Steiner in a Bunkhouse Brawl. Should make for an intriguing main event. Andrew Martin, let's see what you can do with him in this diary. Good solid win over a viable opponent in Konnan. Stableberg really needs a change in character. No surprise to me atleast, Douglas over Smiley to retain the belt. Chavo playing the conservative heel and takes the high road wins me over honestly. DDP winning over Sanders is reasonable, but with Kanyon causing the DQ, I wonder where this feud will go. EXCELLENT. Great way to get Martin over with him attacking Vicious. I will look forward to their match Bob. I'm not surprised about Bam-Bam over Crowbar. The Cat losing to countout because of Jackie and MI Smooth is surely interesting. Reno gets the free win. Damn, I really wanted a swerve and for Rhodes to win the belt. Ah well, Nash brawling with Steiner ends a solid Thunder.
Smackdown - 1/18/2001 Wow, an exciting opening segment to open SD with Jericho one-upping his opponent this sunday. Man, I really hope Jericho takes home the gold. Gunn over Malenko puts over the point that Gunn is ready for Benoit. Like that that match opened the show also. 6 Man Rumble Preview will make me stick around for the rest of the show definitely. Obviously, Eddie gets the win over Sexay...thank god. Great six man tag match here. As mentioned, I hoped those three guys take some belts at the Rumble! A raw Jericho promo when we come back and this just makes me want him to win more. Raven & Saturn over the established APA gives them some steam. Haha, a massage for Angle. Well, even if he wins, I know he will put on a great match with whoever. Well, that would certainly be different if Kane was the one who wins it all this Sunday. Patiently awaiting the Rumble good sir!
Hardcore TV - 1/20/2001 All three belts on the line should provide some interesting action. Good opening tag bout with the champs retaining. As Bockwinkel mentioned, Doring had some bad ass names for his moves. Not surprising, Rhino over Blue Boy. Fans really wanted Sabu here at the end of the match. Punk in ECW just makes me oh so happy Bob. Sounded like a great main event and glad Corino retained. Some of my favorite moments from Steve Corino around this time. Solid Hardcore TV sir.
Great shows, I am definitely going to be keeping tabs on this diary!

Benoit followed up with several clotheslines and a back suplex. Benoit got a near fall following a back breaker and went to work on the right knee of Gunn. Gunn managed to get some offense in that consisted of a delayed vertical suplex and a gut wrench slam but he is clearly holding his knee. Gunn even hit the Fame Asser but couldn’t cover as he landed on his right knee. Gunn finally went for the cover, but Benoit kicked out. Benoit came back with a series of rolling German suplex’s but Gunn was able to kick out. Late in the match, Gunn attempted a military press slam but his knee apparently gave out on him. This allowed Benoit to get out of the move and lock in the Cross face. After a few moments, Gunn tapped out. After the match, Benoit taunted the fans as he held the belt high.
Backstage, Michael Cole is trying to get a word with Kane. Cole asks Kane about his thoughts on the Rumble match. Kane instead grabs Cole by the throat and backs him against the wall. Kane says “I am done talking, it is time for action.” Kane shoves Cole down and leaves the area.

WCW Thunder: Wednesday 17th January 2001...Decent promo to kick off the show with Scott Steiner coming out to the arena and cutting a promo. I like his insulting of Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes, even Dustin Rhodes. Dustin and Steiner having a match for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship sounds like a good idea, looking forward to that. A mini brawl coming out adds to effect, too. Andrew Martin beating Konnan is okay I suppose, but like I said in my Monday Nitro review; the momentum seems entirely on Team Canada's side in this rivalry between Team Canada and the Filthy Animals. Konnan, Rey Misterio Jr, Billy Kidman, they've all been treated badly in this feud in my opinion. They need a new buzz. At least seperate them and allow them to go their seperate ways and move somewhere. Shane Douglas beating Norman Smiley is fine, Douglas retaining the WCW US Heavyweight Championship is cool, no problem with that. Smiley I hope gets reiterated with a storyline or something. He's lost his touch. Wow, Corporal Cajun and Chavo Guerrero Jr reuniting as MIA against Shane Helms and Shannon Moore formerly of Three Count served as nostalgia. Good win for Helms and Moore over Guerrero Jr and Cajun, however, and I liked Chavo turning on Cajun. Very original match there. Diamond Dallas Page and Mike Sanders made for a good first hour main event, I liked Kanyon coming out and attacking DDP, too. Make Sanders his manager. Bam Bam Bigelow beating Crowbar is fine by me. Heh, nice segment with Rey Misterio Jr and Billy Kidman. Reno and The Cat didn't have a good match. I don't care about either man and it certainly did nothing for me. Weird that it ended in count out too. Hehe, you put 'The Car'. Great WCW World Heavyweight Championship defense by Scott Steiner over Dustin Rhodes in Bunkhouse Brawl. A decent show this week.
WWF SmackDown!: Thursday 18th January 2001...First off, good promo to get things rolling on the last edition of SmackDown! prior to the 2001 Royal Rumble. Kurt Angle, the WWF Champion opening things up is great, and I like the references to Chris Jericho apparently soon to become the new WWF Champion. Y2J taking Angle down was neat, but at the Rumble, I see Jericho coming close, just to fail winning, personally. I just can't see him fit into the main event for WrestleMania X-Seven plans. Dean Malenko losing to Billy Gunn was fine, as it gets Gunn hyped up for the WWF Intercontinental Championship bout with Chris Benoit on Sunday. I hope that Gunn doesn't win though; after he had his haircut in late 2000, he just appeared so unappealing, to be honest. Assuming the Rumble will be Malenko's final appearance, unfortunately. I remember Eddie Guerrero and Grandmaster Sexay competing at the 2001 Insurrextion event in England, was a pretty good match. Eddie beating Sexay is fine, didn't seem to lead to anything, but it sure got 'Latino Heat' over. Awesome first-hour main event win for the Hardy Boyz and D-Lo Brown against William Regal, Edge and Christian, seems very likely, I always loved the first-hour main events on SmackDown! with six-man tag team matches. So pure, they seemed. Raven and Perry Saturn is an intriguing new team, guess they needed the win over Bradshaw and Faarooq of the APA, but I hope that the two teams feud for a little while. In my opinion, that'd be good, because the APA need some momentum too; this would be perfect. Have these two brawl in backstage segments and bar rooms; would do both teams great justice. And of course, the winning team would look badass. Lastly, amazing six man main event with Kane overcoming everybody. Was a great show, I really dug it. My only personal complaint is the fact that you have all six top stars stuck together to rival one another, and leading to giving away big pay-per-view quality matches on free television. Definitely one of the better shows on WWF's side thus far.
ECW Hardcore TV: Saturday 20th January 2001...Wow, Steve Corino and Balls Mahoney competing tonight. I'll look forward to that one. Firstly, solid defense of the ECW World Tag Team Championships with Danny Doring and Roadkill overcoming Simon Diamond and Johnny Swinger. No real complaint here, but wow, Hot Commodity standing over them is nice. I really dislike Roadkill and Doring, hopefully we soon get replacements for ECW World Tag Team Champions. Rhino beating Blue Boy is fine; never saw much in Blue Boy. Another ECW World Television Championship defense is fine by me. Rob Van Dam facing Yoshihiro Tajiri at Cyberslam should be interesting, but RVD should win this. Stee Corino lastly beating Balls Mahoney was expected; didn't see a new ECW World Heavyweight Champion about to come along on free television. Good edition, but maybe could have done without one of the titles being on the line.

- Eu Title match was a good choice for Heat. Glad to see Regal retain. - Excellent opening match for the Tag Team Championships. E and C retaining was a good move. - Nice segement with Steph and Triple H. Triple H is a potential winner, so him getting promo time is great. - Glad Benoit retained the IC title, Gunn is pretty 'meh' - Kane promo is good, just like the Triple H one. Another potential winner. - Tazz win is great. Good to see him win. Don't make Richards jobber fodder though. - Two great promo's to hype up Kurt Angle vs Chris Jericho. Sure it'll be a great match. - Excellent match up between Jericho and Angle! Wouldn't have minded either man winning. - Austin as winner of the Rumble is good. I somehow don't see Angle v Austin at Mania though.
Good ppv Bob. Top quality show as usual (:

WWF Royal Rumble: Sunday 21st January 2001...Decent win for William Regal on Sunday Night Heat, picking up the win over D-Lo Brown to retain the WWF European Championship. Hopefully Regal drops the belt soon so that he can move up the card; by June I expect for him to be closing in on the WWF Intercontinental Championship. Great way to get things kicked off on pay-per-view, with Edge and Christian taking on the Hardy Boyz in a match for the WWF Tag Team Championships. Like all of their previous affairs, I'm sure this would have blown the roof off, really. Edge and Christian picking up the win is fine, but wasn't expecting it to be a clean victory. Next up, good WWF Intercontinental Championship defense by Chris Benoit over Billy Gunn. Gunn is still a good wrestler in my book, but if you switched William Regal and Billy Gunn's role [so that Billy was in the European scene and Regal was in the Intercontinental scene], I'd like it alot more. I cannot take Billy seriously in this time scene. Not so much a fan of Tazz and Steven Richards making pay-per-view, if you had stretched this out to say No Way Out, I'd like it. You should have Right To Censor take the WWF Hardcore Championship hostage and have Tazz fight for it back into Februyary's pay-per-view. But aww, RTC broke up. Nevermind, I suppose. At least make the WWF Hardcore or WWF Womens Championship more credible; the Womens scene was pumped with talent in this area, in my mind. The Holly Cousins' Molly, Lita, Trish Stratus, Jacqueline, Terri. So many stars, use them on RAW or SmackDown! a bit more. Just a note, I can't recall Marc Lloyd being in the WWF yet until 2002, but nevermind. Yes, great match between Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho, but I am highly glad that Angle is still WWF Champion, Just I can't see him in the plans for WrestleMania X-Seven's main event, either. Lastly, the Royal Rumble. It sounded great, though I feel Dean Malenko should have had a brief stint in his final appearance wrestling in the WWF. Not fond of Big Bossman or Mark Henry competing, as both were stale at this point. Unless you repackage both men, spice up their personas. Big Show returning serves as no surprise, and great that X-Pac is back. If you make X-Factor with X-Pac, Justin Credible and Albert, push them! They could have been WWF Tag Team Champions one time. Stone Cold Steve Austin winning the Rumble was the best way to go though. Austin against Rock and Triple H at WrestleMania; that would be awesome. A grand show, here.

Yada yada, Regal won on Heat. Now to the actual Rumble... Like that E&C retained the Tag Team gold, think that was better then giving it to The Hardyz, at least now it was. Chris Benoit retaining the Intercontinental sounds like a good idea, don't think Gunn should be a singles champion... really, it doesn't sound good. Tazz beating Richards is good. Glad Kurt beat Jericho, although it could of gone either way and I would of said I was glad. Ha, return at #10, #15, #20, and #25 in pattern form... nice. Glad Austin won. I am intrigued.

Cant believe youre tackling all three feds in one diary. WCW was in its dieing days, but youre making the most of it. ECW is interesting to read, and WWF is great. Rumble was a great show. Austin winning seemed the best way to go. Angle/Austin at Mania? Or maybe Angle will drop the belt before Mania. Cool to see Albert last as long as he did. I too thought X-Factor could have been more of a success if given the chance.

Royal RumbleGood match to open the night with E&C retaining their gold in what sounded like a solid match. Triple H segment makes me wonder if Stephanie will be turning on him soon as she didn't like the Vince comment. Like to see Benoit retain over Gunn as Benoit is much more qualified for the belt. Kane looking extremely dominant. Tazz really dominating Richards and RTC leaving him down is certainly interesting. Hopefully you start pushing Tazz correctly. Love the Jericho promo and I am REALLY pulling for him Bob! . Angle retains but the match sounded amazing. Gah, Jericho will see the championship someday. Holy Surprise return Batman! Big Show/Bossman/X-Pac/Henry oh my! Dig Austin winning the bout and Austin/Angle should be excellent if you go that way! Great show sir!

E&C vs. The Hardyz is a great way to open up the Royal Rumble. Glad to see E&C retain the Tag Titles. Hmm, a possible HHH/Stephanie split shortly? Benoit is superior to Gunn, so I'm glad that Gunn didn't go over Benoit here. Tazz vs. Stevie Richards on one of the big four pay-per-views? Hm, not too sure on that one. It would have made a better match at No Way Out than the Royal Rumble. Nonetheless, the right man went over. Jerichoooooo! </3 X-Pac and the Big Show are back? Great stuff, man. I'm fine with Austin winning. It'll be interesting to see what your WrestleMania main event will be.

Tony Schiavone and Scott Hudson welcome everyone to the show and go over what is scheduled to happen tonight. Schiavone makes sure to emphasize on the return of Eric Bischoff to WCW. Hudson wonders what the CEO of WCW Ric Flair will think now that Bischoff is the owner of WCW. Schiavone briefly goes over their history and how big their feud has been over the past several years. Flair goes over the fact that Bischoff may have brought WCW to it’s peak, but he also brought them to an all time low. Flair says that he will not allow Bischoff to walk right into WCW and kill the company that he has passionately fought to keep alive throughout the years. Flair continues by saying that he doesn’t care if he is fired from WCW because he has many options in the wrestling world. Flair knows that there is another company that would gladly welcome him back, but he would prefer to beat that company than have to join them. Flair puts over the crowd and the show before leaving the ring as the announcers wonder what will happen between Flair and Bischoff tonight.

Martin knows that in WCW, he can be successful, but he needs to take out the deadweight in WCW to allow himself and Team Canada to succeed. Schiavone welcomes Eric Bischoff back to WCW as Bischoff shakes Schiavone hand. Bischoff tells Schiavone that things are going to be drastically different here in WCW. Bischoff goes over his previous run in WCW last year where he was “working with a ignorant sleazebag Vince Russo” and how the boys in the back weren’t motivated. Bischoff also puts down TNT saying that they “are responsible for the killing of this once great broadcast”. Bischoff tells Schiavone that come April 1st, 2001 WCW will no longer be on TNT. Bischoff announces that they will be on a different network but can not say the network as of this time for “legal reasons” but tells Schiavone that the network is not full of “corporate, greedy, backstabbing suite wearing jackasses”. Schiavone asks Bischoff about Ric Flair’s position in the company, and just as he does Ric Flair’s music hits and Flair makes his way down to the ring. Bischoff is happy to have Flair come down to the ring as he would rather discuss this with Flair. Bischoff knows that he and Flair do not get along, but he doesn’t care because he is the boss now. Bischoff puts down the title of CEO and tells Flair that it doesn’t mean anything to him because Ric Flair is FIRED from his position. Flair gets right in Bischoff’s face and tells Bischoff that he is going to regret the day he did that. Bischoff lets Flair know that he has been fired as CEO, but he has not been fired as a in-ring competitor. Flair tells Bischoff that he is retired, but Bischoff tells him he is no longer retired. Bischoff says the fans want Flair to be a wrestler, and considering he wants the money to keep WCW going, Ric Flair is back in WCW as a wrestler. Bischoff finishes the show off by saying “WCW will be changing for the better, you better believe that.” Bischoff and Flair have a stare down as WCW goes off the air.
End of show

Very nice Nitro.
Loves Flair promo at the opening, makes me look forward to Bischoff returning.
Very good opener
Liking Vitos title reign.
Douglas on TV is ALWAYS good.
The main event was a good match, and the best ending IMO to keep thinkg building.
Love the tension between Eric and Flair, very realistic. Can't wait to see what station they move to and if WCW will change directions now.

Angle gloats about being in the main event at Wrestle Mania XVII and that the phrase “the biggest match in our sport” will actually mean something with the best wrestler in the world involved. Angle mentions that Steve Austin won the Royal Rumble, for a second time, but that doesn’t matter to him. Pac lets Jericho know that he better watch his back because “payback is a bitch”.
Third Contest: Chris Benoit defeated D’Lo Brown in a non-title match: Brown controlled the early portions of the match with a leg lariat and a sit out spine buster for a near fall. Main Event: Kane defeated Chris Jericho, HHH and The Rock to earn a title shot at No Way Out: A huge main event as the winner faces Angle at the next pay per view. Kane controlled a good portion of the match working on Rock and Jericho as HHH seemed to convince Kane to work with him. HHH planted Rock with a pedigree and went for the cover but Kane prevented the count so that alliance ended fairly quickly. Jericho drove HHH down with a running bulldog and hit a springboard moonsault but as he went for the cover, X-Pac ran down and delivered a spinning heel kick knocking Jericho out. Rock planted Jericho with the Rock Bottom and went for the People’s Elbow but Kane cut him off with a hug choke slam. Late in the match, HHH went for the pedigree on Rock but was shoved off and was hit with a chair to the back by Steve Austin! Rock went for the Rock Bottom but Kane nailed Rock with a big boot and clotheslined him to the floor. HHH stumbled to his feet and was picked up by Kane who drove HHH down with a tombstone. Kane covers HHH and picks up the win just before Jericho could break up the count. After the match, Kane does his usual taunt and fire explodes from the ring posts and signals that the belt is coming around his waist. Jericho, Rock and a laid out HHH are the last scenes before we see Steve Austin staring down to the ring happy that he screwed over HHH.
Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler wonder what Kurt Angle is thinking now that he has to face Kane at WWF No Way Out!

Raw:
- Alright opening promo, thought Austin opening would of been better but okay. - Bossman over Snow is good. - Hardys over the Hollys is also good. - Pac and Jericho feud could be nice. - Benoit over Brown is the right decision. - Austin and Show is kind of lackluster for Austin's fallout for the Rumble, but glad he won. - Raven over Gunn is right. - Rikishi causing the disqualification is good, Taker could of won in anyway and it'd be good. - And lastly, Kane winning is not something I like personally. But I guess it works as long as he doesn't end up winning the title. Having him main event Mania is just... no.
Overall, good Raw.

Fine way to kick the show off, it sets up the main event nicely. Decent match for the Hardcore Title. Bossman winning the belt is fine by me. Not surprised that Matt and Jeff went over The Holly Cousins. Would love Jericho to get the title shot. Benoit/Brown is solid. Raven over Gunn is fine, my only problem is that there's too many matches so far on the show that really shouldn't be on RAW, e.g. Raven/Gunn, Snow/Bossman. I feel that there could have been better matches instead of those two. Liking the Albert push. Kane winning the title shot? Hm, would have preferred someone else like Jericho or The Rock, but I suppose having Kane is something different. Overall, the show seemed pretty lackluster. The only thing that really stood out to me was the main event. To me, Nitro was better than RAW. Thanks for the reply to PWR, man.

Alright, Raw after the Rumble; Should be grand! Monday Night RawGREAT opening segment; Angle comes out gloating and Vince brings him down to earth. Loves it man. Hope HHH wins or the Rock! No surprise to see a new Hardcore Champion and I'm happy to see Bossman take it! Creepy Raven promo but it gets the job done well. Some solid tag action next and good to see the Hardys go over. ing X-Pac, that guy is hella annoying. Benoit over the lower D'Lo makes a ton of sense here. Good filler type match. Woah, pretty big match this early on Raw. Austin going over just adds to his momentum. Nice Taker promo; makes him seem very badass. Predictable Raven win as he is the guy being pushed right now. Regal's quest sounds interesting, I wonder if he does get that push. Rikishi and Albert sure did a number on the Undertaker. Well, Kane was surely out of left field. This makes me wonder if you'll give him the belt. I doubt it; but Kane/Angle should be decent. Nice job man!
