If it is a stupid question, feel free to call me stupid. I was not aware of the whole internet-wrestling connection around the time Kane lost his mask, so I have always wondered (and always failed to find out), what happened with his hair. I think I was more shocked to see the hair go off more than the actual mask... Did Kane have long hair and cut it off before losing the mask? Was he always bald and the mask always had its own set of hair (REALLY creepy)? Does anybody know?  |

Kane had hair when he took the mask off, just not long.
Tbh, I'm not entirely sure.

He always had the long hair, but when he dropped the mask it had been cut to a medium length on the back and the front bald. Then the next week it was cut to a buzz on the back and the front bald. Now...bald, mostly.
Edit:
You can see at :43 seconds that when X-Pac takes the mask off, Kane has regular long hair.

He had long hair but cut it before the Mask vs. Title match and wore the wig and mask combo.

It probably looked less menacing if Kane was there unmasked and with hair, and that wouldn't of got him over as being 'ugly', an image they wanted to portray. He looks incredibly humane now, however.

He always had long hair for the kane gimmick. It was never short or cut, they only cut it just for when the mask was coming off to make him look freaky. I could remember knowing as soon as kane entered that night he would lose the mask. His fair was ridiculously huge and puffy like there were two layers, it was never like that.  |

Causing him to run off to the back. His face wasn't fully seen on TV, apart from when his mask was half ripped. amazing photo, its the only one I have ever seen of Kane unmasked in his 'Kane' gear. I'm surprised no backstage unmasked photos of Kane (in his gear) have ever surfaced over the years. I have only seen photos from SS 2000 which showed some of his face, but never one like this of his whole face!!! Thanks kaneisdaman |
