Hey guys! I think I have almost found the answer to where the Greg Valentine Hasbro Prototype is! Check this out: In his 51 minute ClubWWI.com shoot, Greg discusses: Surprising thoughts about Ric Flair’s retirement, Taking the WWWF Title Off of Bob Backlund, The Dog Collar Match Against Roddy Piper at Starrcade ‘83, His Feelings About Brutus Beefcake, Tito Santana, the only person who has his Rhythm and Blues Hasbro figure, Dino Bravo, being billed as his father’s brother, WrestleMania 24, wrestling “Big Fat Earthquake” at WrestleMania 7, his big upset over Ricky Steamboat at WrestleMania 4, TNA, The Andersons, Breaking Wahoo’s Leg, Ronnie Garvin, and so much more! Does anyone have access to ClubWWI.com to check out the interview?? We may be one step closer to uncovering another of the Hasbro mysteries!

I would love to know the answer. I just don't know if I want to pay money just to read that haha. Hopefully someone has an account on there and could enlighten us all..

I posted an update on the figure about 3 years ago when I met Greg at a convention in 2004. He told me all about the figure and how he flew out there and it's sitting on his shelf at home. I offered him a price and he said 'Talk to me in 5 years..." Well Greg, it's been 5 years!

It'a the only figure I would pay big money for (if I had any spare!?) but would need COA from Valentine himself and an ex-Hasbro employee that worked on it!!
I'd love it to surface. There's some pretty nice customs about though which I may pickup. Anyone got any pics of a custom?

LOL how great would it be to know where that dang fig is. Ive wondered for almost 20 years about its existence, and also about the proto hbk with the virgil body.

i bet there is more than 1 in existence! like we've seen/heard from Brian, they made multiple proto figures for promotional use. Greg the Hammer must have one, and maybe a couple of more are in the possession of former employees. Its definitely not a 1/1 situation. BK

Paul, That Valentine custom, is it made out of a Honky Tonk Man Top and whose bottom? Like a Purple card Dibiase? -Brandon

I offered him a price and he said 'Talk to me in 5 years..." Well Greg, it's been 5 years! mmmmmmmmmmmm. We'll if this is true then Greg just tells different people different stories...I met greg 2 years ago at a show in PA and we had a pretty at length talk about this very figure (everybody was in line to meet jake the snake and bruno) during the discussion I mentioned how Hacksaw Jim Duggan was a huge collector of wrestling stuff (mainly t-shirts) and how I was trying to win his King of the Ring Robe a few years back (he sold it on ebay for only $1,000) I don't remember how we got on subject about duggan but anyhow during the discussion he said that he hoped that Jim hadn't sold the figure of him (valentine) and I asked if he's talking about the one of him in the white coat when he was with honky tonk (that's how I phrased it to him) and he said "yes the Rythm and Blues version of me, jim is the only person that has 1 that I know of and he got it from me years ago" and then he went on to say that he wished that jim would give it back to him since he didn't realize at the time it was the only 1 (which may not be the case now considering what badgerbody says).. So I'm almost positive that Duggan sold it (even though I never seen it on ebay at that time when he was selling everything he owned including his 1of1 blue tights ljn figure). I personally think that a guy by the name of Drewnikj who lives in New Jersey owns the valentine figure now (The guy probably has the world's largest wrestling collection that is alittle larger then stoms impressive collection...). That's my guess on who owns it but it's just a guess.... So I'm wondering who valentine mentions in that interview...... so it's 1 of 4 people. Either Duggan still owns it (which I highly doubt) (2) Valentine got it back from duggan and he owns it himself (3) Drewnikj in new jersey or (4) The person who purchased it from Duggan..... Then again maybe greg was just talking to talk............I guess we will never know until it shows up one day (possibly more then 1 of them)

I can say from losing countless auctions to him in the past, Drew from NJ must have an unreal wrestling collection lol. I have sent him messages through ebay before for other reasons through the years but he has never responded to any of them. Would be nice to try and get him to join here maybe.

Consensus story I heard is the autograph signing story. He did a Ringside interview in, I want to say, 2004, where he talks about what attire he wanted his CS to have and they ask him and he says he had three, sold two, and sold the last one at an autograph signing.

Great discussion - this is what makes this forum so good. People around the world sharing stories, rumours and pictures of the great WWF Hasbros.
Love the custom Paul! Thanks for the pic!

Chimming in a bit late here - but I'm a friend of DREW. We've done plenty of business in the past - primarily AWA Mat Mania Remcos and rare Hasbro stuff.
I don't want to reveal too much - but I'm not sure he's got it. I'll drop him a line and see.
Also - having dealt with plenty of elite collectors - there's another guy (ironcially in the NJ area) who's also a HUGE collector. I've lost touch with him over the last year, but I wouldn't be surprised if he had it.
Having once owned the biggest wrestling figure collection in Canada (almost positive!), in 10 years of actively buying and selling figures - this prototype is one of the only ones I've NEVER owned.

THAT is your new challenge then Pandelis You MUST own that figure, and reward us with pictures! Otherwise I am calling shenanigans on your claims haha!
