A question slightly off topic, does anyoen know WHY Hasbro gave Kamala a star and not his traditional moon?

No, is the short answer. It was probably just a mistake and thats what went to print. Its like the old fact about 'Donkey Kong', it should have been called 'Monkey Kong' but a problem with translation turned an 'M' in to a 'D'... i suspect that this is something similar.

Guess I must have a fake then, as I have never seen or heard of this "sticker". I only know of two MOC legit pieces;and one loose Kamala. Most collectors know that I own one of the two MOC ones. The other legit Kamala w/moon was in the hands of the ebay UK collector who won and then was reselling it. He sent me pics of his Kamala w/moon front and back. Guess what, no sticker on his either. Now we'll probably have ebay customs with "Hasbro stickers".

"How can you tell if you are looking at a legitimate Kamala w/moon MOC or a custom ? 2 dead giveaways are: A) a price tag or price tag residue - Duh ?, it was never at retail, so why would there be a price on it. B) there is a fairly large white import sticker on the cardback - it was never shipped around the country or out of the country. Other obvious signs I didn't list are: a sloppy looking moon, torn blister, fuzzy pic, etc. " wfigs.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=wfnj&action=display&thread=1805cus...now i don't understand. you said is has the import sticker on the back, now your denying yours has the "import/pre production" sticker on the back. please help us? can we see the back of your kamala please??? thanks bk

Sorry for any confusion, but the above is correct. Most sellers use the KB Toys clearance Kamalas for the customs/fakes. Those were the ones that had the import stickers on back.

Hasbromaniac, I could swear I seen a picture of your moon Kamala with a big sticker on the back. Maybe I've just taken too many chair shots over the years and am starting to lose my mind. My mistake.

its a shame that thread i started a while back never stayed a sticky, it was a thread where we could warn each other about fake figures on ebay, and name and shame the seller. I remember the worst culprit was a fella called 'mickey' or 'mikey', something along those lines.
We also contacted hasbro, they however arnt bothered as they stated 'its an old toy line'. Ebay never seemed to care much either, so the thread just kind of faded away. I still think it was a good idea to have, just as a warning to each other if nothing else.

there is however a kamala moon on ebay at the moment that seems legit. Well, i say legit, the seller has thousands of transactions, 100% and is selling the figure MOC for a few thousand.
it could be the real deal

Few minths ago he sent me some pics of it and I've notice that it's fake..but maybe I'm wrong who knows !

I'd rather just have a custom and know it's a custom than spend x amount of money and it be a fake/custom. £90 would be way too much but £400+ like the other. And I'd never spend thousand(s) - real or not. Unless I won the lottery! :-)
