Websites are privately owned and are not regulated by the United States Government. Unfortunately for you, you don't have a "right" to do anything on their website. They can ALLOW you to do things, but you still have no legal 'rights' on a website. They can ban you for anything they want -- they don't need a reason at all. Exactly. People think they can do whatever they want on someone else's website without recourse and when there is actual recourse they cry "What about my Freedom of Speech?". It's just like if someone was visiting someone's home and said something offensive or whatever and then they got kicked out of the house for it. The fact is everyone is a guest here and at other forums. We allow you to come here and visit us as long as you play by the rules and conduct yourself decent, and do not start trouble. If we see this and at our discretion, or what ever the reason may be, we have the right to tell you to get out for a week or to get out and never come back. This is the way it is at any serious forum, you have to play by there rules and if you disagree, simply don't sign up in the first place. JS Yes, Mr. Specific, I agree with that. But mods are ALSO guests. They can do more, but they're still guests. ;D

He agrees with Jay, except for the part he doesn't agree with.

I used to have issues with some of the MODs and Admins on here. Then I realized that its the internet. Its not like anything I type on this board really amounts to anything outside of a few chucks.
"This stupid mods....they have no right....what about freedom of speech?"
blah blah blah.
Here's a couple of suggestions for you.
1. Read the Terms of Service before you even start posting. I'm sure there will be a lovely little section in there letting you know BEFORE YOU START POSTING that you can be suspended/terminated/deleted for any reason.
2. If you don't like the way something is being ran, don't post there. I went to college at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I didn't enjoy the way the teachers and administrators were handing my future. I left. It's that simple.
3. Just because you have something to say....doesn't always mean people want to listen.
That is all.

He agrees with Jay, except for the part he doesn't agree with. hah yeah, crazy. To clarify it for that guy: Mods are volunteering to uphold the values and standards of said forum and are given certain responsibilities and trust. So they have the right which is given to them by the operators/managers/forum owners/etc to exercise their judgment. JS

Remember when MODs changed monthly? That was crazy. Now they change whenever a user dies/is deleted/is banned/is JC. 9 out of 10 of those monthly Mod changes ended in fights/constant bitching. Not to mention that is extremely time consuming to change all the Mods here.

There's a difference between freedom of speech in a legal manner and freedom of speech as it pertains to a private business. If I tell my boss to go jump off a bridge, the company has every right to fire me, FOS just protects me in that I won't go to jail or anything of that nature.

This forum is like a state and the creator of proboards is like the president . You have to follow the TOS when running the site, but you can tweak minor things. Correct?
