While I like the idea, it wouldn't work. Mattel wouldn't be able to use the same molds, of even very similar molds, because hasbro owns the rights to the original molds. If they were to do a throwback set, it wouldn't fit in with your collections, just like the current JAKKS "LJN" figures don't fit in with the originals.

If they were to do a throwback set, it wouldn't fit in with your collections, just like the current JAKKS "LJN" figures don't fit in with the originals. If a concerted effort was made to stick to the Hasbro aesthetics of the previous line, it very well *could* be extended by Mattel. Jakks simply made a choice to closely recreate the LJN line, but not exactly. It would've taken different CS packaging for one, (due to the height of real LJN figures)and we weren't going to get that. But for Mattel to give us same scale and aesthetics--that would take effort, and I highly doubt we're going to get that. But to say it *couldn't* be done is patently false... I wish more people would stand up and demand it though... Wars

Jakks are lazy and like to half ass things. I thought that should be clear. The blocky, cheap looking figures they made as "LJN" were nothing like LJN. More like the horrible WCW OSFTM figures if you ask me!

This is exactly as I feared...!
Still...nice to wish it could happen.
I was thinking of the LJN - in England I can never remember them being in stores but I'd not got into WWF then. Did anyone buy them over in the U.K?
I always liked the idea that this set featured Managers. As a non-collector of LJN I didn't know the new releases didn't match original sets.
Customs it is!

Having read further posts it is nice to know people out there also believe this great line should see some new additions!
In the UK I remember the WCW UK Exclusives being peg warmers in Woolworthes while we all bought up the WWF Hasbros. Wish I'd got the full set now just for re-sell.
I remember seeing the Yellow WWF KOTR..."don't like that" - why!? Should have got some of them too!

Got outbid on a great Orange carded set on EBAY LINK NOT ALLOWED.uk which included Bastion Booger, Diesel, Bob Backlund, USA Lex Luger, Black/Pink Owen Hart and Mabel (MOM). Was really gutted to miss out as the cards looked superb too. Final price £72 with £12 p&p which for 7 I thought was reasonable. Won a loose custom Diesel though. Is there a WWF Hasbro Custom thread anyone?

Yes me too. I've started with Diesel and then Mankind (he's a bit later than some of the others I want but he looked good and was fairly cheap).
I think they should do superstars that weren't made during the Hasbro era (maybe even some from before) and then ones that have been in WWF/E since Hasbro finished. Comon Mattel...

For those who wish Hasbro made figures of Colonel Mustafa and General Adnan, here's the link: web.archive.org/web/20081026034832/http://www.wrestlingworld.it/Commerciale/afopera/afopera.htm (warning: this is an old site from 2008; you can see that it's from Wayback Machine) I think the officially made Sergeant Slaughter figure would go well enough with these two custom figures (with the 'Sergeant's Salute' move). I'm aware how to do the figure's 'Sergeant's Salute' move: Hold figure in position and pull right arm back to overhead position. To activate, release arms. I've thought of excellent steps for making custom figures of Goldust and Kane: Goldust Doink the Clown; get rid of hair and use putty to fill in holes. Kane Undertaker; rove hat and sculpt mask out of putty. What this means: Changing Doink the Clown into Goldust: Pull out the real, green hair, and fill in the holes in the figure's head with modelling putty (whenever I say 'putty', this is the putty I mean). Paint the figure's white face yellow (and the ears yellow), paint the red nose yellow, and use black paint over the figure's eyes, and on the figure's mouth (the sort of 'paint' I mean, whenever I say that word, is gloss paint). Sculpt new, normal, short, moulded on hair, with the putty, and paint it blond. Paint the figure's dark blue torso black, and paint the entire arms gold (sand off the lower white portions of the arms) [whenever I say 'sand', I mean 'remove with sandpaper'). Sculpt gloves out of the putty, and paint the hands gold. Needless to say, paint the dark blue upper arm portions gold. Paint the figure's red crotch and legs gold, and paint black stripes on the figure's legs. Paint the black boots gold. He will have an 'Arm Punch Action' (his right arm, which ends in a fist, is spring holded, but his left, open handed arm, isn't, but still moves). His legs are static, as well. Name of his 'Real Wrestling Action' (on his card) - 'Curtain Call' (interestingly, his finishing move). Instructions for how to do his move (on the back of his card): Hold figure in position. Wind right arm clockwise, as shown. To activate, release arm. Changing the Undertaker into Kane: Remove hat with pliers, and resculpt the hair with the putty (also paint the resculpted hair the colour of the rest of the hair). Depending on what Undertaker figure you use, if you use the original one, with auburn hair, and eye shadow (whose card is neon blue), recolour the hair dark brown (this isn't necessary if you use the red carded figure, since that figure already has dark hair, but you'll have to remove the coat accessory, should you use this Undertaker figure). Before sculpting on the mask, sand off the figure's facial features (beard, nose and eyes) and, after sculpting the mask, use the putty to sculpt new eyes. Sand off sleeves, and paint the arms the colour of the figure's skin. Paint the gloves black, and paint red flames at the bottom of the figure's shirt (the flames should point up). Leave the legs black, but sand off spats, then paint the entire boots black. He will have a 'Clothesline Action'. Name of his 'Real Wrestling Action' (on his card) - 'Choke Slam'. Instructions for how to do his move (on the back of his card): Fully extend right arm. Twist body and release. I'm not sure, though, how the Colonel Mustafa and General Adnan figures were made. Can someone please make these two custom Goldust and Kane figures? If possible, could they please post the images of them here? I'd like to see what they'll look like. Someone please to get back to me, on this subject. These are my only favourite wrestlers now (meaning I now only like five wrestlers).

Does anyone know what happened to WWE in that gap between the end of Hasbro figures and the start of Jakks BCA figures? I would have liked to see Hasbro figures for a lot of the guys from that seemingly forgotten era who never got figures:
Mantaur Savio Vega Duke "The Dumpster" Drose The Goon Freddie Joe Floyd Jean Pierre Lafeyette (Yeah, that pirate guy who stole from Bret Hart) Aldo Montoya Kwang Men on a Mission Body Donnas Bastion Booger Heavenly Bodies Well Dunn Isaac Yankem, DDS Hakushi Waylon Mercy Jacob and Eli Blu Dean Douglas Kama the Supreme Fighting Machine
This was when I really started getting into the wrestlers and every character being generated. I started buying Hasbros in my youth, but then felt that gap between that line ending and the Jakks line starting. I feel like a lot of these guys missed out and if it was either the last series for Hasbro or first for Jakks they could have had an experimental phase and thrown out names who might not have otherwise gotten an action figure.
