The other day I was browsing round the shops and came across some what im guessing are Lucha Libre style bootlegs..... The store I was in had about 30 - lots of variety different colour outfits etc so I thought id nip back in today and pick one of each style up..... however disaster struck as I turned the corner to be greeted by just Transformer bootlegs - not a wrestler in sight , after much searching I stumbled across the last 3 figures left - one of which was a double.... posted below are my findings..... I know there are a few people out there who appreciate bootleg figures so thought id share them...... The more I look at them maybe they aren't Lucha's but infact Hurricane Helms and Rey Mysterio knock offs..... Will check back over the next couple of weeks at random spells incase they put more out!

The first one looks a lot like Mike Awesome actually, it's a cheap knockoff of Ray Buccanero Jr.

I used to buy bootlegs all of the time when I was a kid. I used them as jobbers with my Remco AWA figures. The cool thing about them was that, most of the time, they came with a championship belt. They usually fit the AWA guys, so that meant more titles.

Bucanero never rocked a mullet. whatever the case may be, that is the cmll ray buccanero. it might be in the data base for you to make the comparison or just do a search. it's not a matter of who it looks like, that is the exact sculpt used for the actual buccanero fig.

Let's place nice now.... I put the two figures side by side & tried to get them as close in scale as possible to compare body types. I haven't seen the new bootlegs so I'm not sure what the real height is, but the body types do look pretty darn close.

I think that I was the first one to post pics of some similar looking bootleg lucha figures several weeks back. The same heads anyway, but the ones I picked up did not include whoever the bald guy is. Also, the ones I have had a different body style and a different card backing. I'd like to see more of these other ones, though.

The figures on the card behind the bootlegs look better than the actual bootlegs
