Monday 17th December 2007 - Buffalo, NY We start of RAW with a video package recapping last night's Armageddon, featuring Randy Orton and Chris Jericho's heated confrontation for the WWE Championship; a match that involved Jericho accidentally taking out announcer, John Bradshaw Layfield, and the SmackDown! color commentator was none too happy, causing Y2J the win but, by disqualification. The opening video package to RAW aired as we cut to the live arena for Monday Night RAW, Jim Ross and Jerry "King" Lawler happily welcoming us to the show and beginning to talk about last night's events at Armageddon.
We start off RAW with the theme of John "Bradshaw" Layfield as the SmackDown! color commentator walked down the rampway in a suit slowly, JBL without a limousine. Layfield climbed into the ring and began to explain his action amongst boos, mentioning how Chris Jericho had laid his hands on him inappropriately, and that he had to display himself in the manner he did as part of self defense. Whether Jericho likes this or not, he did it to show Y2J that he should not try to be the bigger man than he is, because JBL will always win. The theme of Chris Jericho then hit as the crowd cheered, Y2J walking out to the rampway and laughing about how Layfield figured that he was the head honcho of RAW, but the last time he himself competed, he lost to tiny Rey Mysterio, lost his marbles and became a color commentator sat next to Michael Cole. But this is RAW! Not SmackDown. Layfield tells Jericho to watch his tone, because all of this happened a year and a half ago and he will be damned if Jericho tries to piss him off here and now. Suddenly, the voice of William Regal was heard, as the General Manager of RAW and right hand man of Mr McMahon power walked out to tell the ladies to calm it down as Regal has the authority to get Jericho removed from television again if he chooses to talk to WWE authority like that. JBL laughs, but Regal tells Layfield he can get him suspended without his valuable pay if he continues to remain in a RAW ring when a SmackDown! staff member! Regal explains his dissatisfaction last night at Armageddon, hence why tonight, Chris Jericho will get another opportunity at the WWE Championship held by Randy Orton; in a no disqualification match! Y2J smirked as Layfield was angered.
| COMMERCIAL BREAK | 1) Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes def. Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch to retain the World Tag Team Championships @ 6:44A rematch from this past week on the 15th Anniversary edition of RAW, as Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes shockingly won the World Tag Team Championships from the Southern combination of Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch; Murdoch and Cade were bound to regain the gold tonight however, as they grounded Rhodes and kept him away from Holly, but it was the veteran who would make the save in the end, both champions getting rid of Murdoch and Cade, the Alabama Slam by Holly on Murdoch getting the win. Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes celebrated their win with the World Tag Team Championships, their first successful defense of the belts. In the backstage area, Jeff Hardy was shown wandering down a corridor to a big pop, as Jonathan Coachman ran into him, telling Jeff that he did a great job at Armageddon last night against Triple H, but apparently Triple H is angry and wants him in his locker room as soon as possible. Hardy looks confused, but nods his head and heads off. Coach is left smirking deviously. In the backstage area with Maria, Santino Marella was shown thinking to himself as Maria asks Santino about what he has to say. Marella mentions how he does not like the idea of his American glucosed donut getting in the ring with that Beth Phoenix girl, mentioning how she could probably manhandle him too! Maria tells Santino that this is her chance to prove herself as being a credible diva. Marella shakes his head, telling Maria that she wouldn't be getting any hotdog tonight. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |Randy Orton was shown to boos, the WWE Champion being asked by Todd Grisham about where he stands in this situation between Chris Jericho and John "Bradshaw" Layfield. Orton displays no care for Y2J and JBL, but tonight, he will put down the supposed King of the World, and then he will have to put up with this dreamer superkid called Jeff Hardy, who thinks he is still a mere teenager. Orton tells Grisham that he will kill his dreams at the Royal Rumble. 2) Mr Kennedy def. DH Smith @ 4:26The obnoxious Green Bay resident was here tonight to gain himself some retribution and momentum after losing to Shawn Michaels last night at Armageddon, but DH Smith was not about to let Kennedy knock him down easily. The Wisconsin loudmouth was shoved around a bit with body slams and gorilla presses as the fans in Buffalo were surprised, and Smith soon went for the second generation Running Powerslam just for Kennedy to slide out of it and nail his new finisher, the Mic Check! A sudden finish, Kennedy covered for the three count. Mr Kennedy celebrated his win as the crowd booed, Kennedy grabbing the microphone and declaring to Shawn Michaels that he was not finished with him yet, and that he was calling him out to a match on the New Year's Eve edition of RAW! A limousine pulled up outside the arena, and it was pretty obvious that it was the limousine of our Chairman, Mr McMahon. Jeff Hardy was shown opening Triple H's locker room door as Hunter wondered what Jeff was doing here, the 'Rainbow-haired Warrior' explaining what Jonathan Coachman had told him. The 'Cerebral Assassin' responded, asking Jeff why he continued to try and make an enemy or a threat out of himself to him. Tension filled the room as 'The Game' told Jeff that he had bigger fish to fry; namingly, Umaga in a few minutes. Hardy didn't look happy as he left. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |In the backstage hallway, we see the 'Nature Boy' walking up and down, Jim Duggan seeing Ric Flair and asking Ric why he was so anxious. Flair mentioned how he was told three weeks ago by Vince McMahon that the next match he loses, he must retire, and he's not about to be intimidated by the Chairman, but he knows he's here, and he knows he will be up to no good. 3) Triple H def. Umaga @ 8:49The 'Cerebral Assassin' was out to prove himself tonight, prove himself to the higher powers of RAW, namely the Chairman of the board, Vince McMahon, his Executive Assistant, Jonathan Coachman, and his General Manager of RAW, William Regal. 'The Game' had a big task put in front of him by the GM however, as the 'Samoan Bulldozer' had no forgiveness for the former WWE Champion. Triple H now had to start all over again in his quest to be a future WWE Champion, after losing the contenders match to Jeff Hardy last night at Armageddon. Hunter's shoulder was worked over as Umaga sent him sailing into the ring post early in the match, but even through Coach's attempt to interfere, Triple H sent Umaga into Coach on the apron, and a Pedigree to Umaga gave him the win! Triple H celebrated his victory to cheers, Jonathan Coachman recovering on the rampway, as Umaga remained down in the ring. The 'Cerebral Assassin' was once again ranking high with the Royal Rumble closing in on five weeks, his rebellion of authority targeted to link to future WWE Championship gold. In the backstage area we see Maria walking, with Santino trying to keep up and reason with her, Maria apologising to the Italian and saying that this is her chance to step up. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |An advertisement aired, hyping tomorrow night's edition of ECW on Sci-Fi scheduled to feature the ECW World Champion, CM Punk do battle with SmackDown!'s WWE United States Champion, Montel Vontavious Porter. All on Sci-Fi, from 10 CT! 4) Beth Phoenix def. Maria (w/Santino Marella) in a non-title match @ 2:11It was a decent effort made by the girlfriend of Santino Marella, but like so many divas have in recent months, Maria was another victim to the 'Glamazon'. The WWE Womens Champion had her outsized, outweighed and overlooked to begin with, as the 'Glamazon' began the match by throwing around the more inexperienced diva. Marella tried to throw in a towel, comedically, but the referee looked confused and Santino progressed to climb into the ring and argue with him! Marella turned around to get a scoop slam by the 'Glamazon' with an amazing feat of strength, Phoenix nailing the Glam Slam for the easy victory. Beth Phoenix celebrated her win as the dominator of the womens division today, the WWE Womens Champion standing tall as Santino Marella attended to Maria in the ring. Phoenix was then interrupted by the theme of Mickie James to a nice reaction from the crowd; Mickie wandering to the rampway. At that point, Melina's theme hit, and the crowd booed as she came to the rampway. Jillian Hall's theme hit last as she pranced out to boos, these three divas intrigued and wanting a shot at Beth's title! In the parking lot, Mr McMahon stepped out of his limousine to an appauling reaction, the rain pouring, William Regal had an umbrella as the General Manager of RAW invited McMahon to the show, McMahon telling Regal to spare it as he was here to announce plenty of things. An advertisement aired, promoting the next pay-per-view extravaganza, WWE Royal Rumble; live on pay-per-view on Sunday 27th January 2008 from New York City. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |In the arena, William Regal was stood as he introduces the Chairman of the company, Mr Vincent Kennedy McMahon! McMahon strutted out to boos, a smile on his face regardless, as McMahon got into the ring and began to tell the General Manager that he was doing a splendid job on RAW lately, but he has plenty of things to reveal, to announce and to make note of. McMahon mentions how the Royal Rumble is over five weeks away, sure. But he likes to make plans ahead of time. Vince reveals that starting December 31, 2007 edition of RAW, the Royal Rumble qualifying round will begin to determine the thirty participants in the Rumble match. McMahon goes on to announce that also on the December 31st edition of Monday Night RAW, we will see a tri-brand special, as it will be the WWE Champion whomever it may be, taking on the World Heavyweight Champion, Edge and the ECW World Champion, CM Punk! The winner of this triple threat match granted exclusion from having to defend their respective belt at the Royal Rumble event. McMahon moves on to mention how Mr Kennedy's demand for a rematch with Shawn Michaels has been noted, and their rematch will take place on the aforementioned December 31st. McMahon soon notes about the career of Ric Flair being supposedly in jeopardy. And this is why he is here tonight for the main part. Because on December 31st, he wants everybody to see that him, Vince McMahon is a true competitor. On December 31st, the Chairman will take on the 'Nature Boy' in a match that will go without interference on his behalf. And on New Year's Eve 2007, everybody will remember it as the 'Death of the Nature Boy's Career'! The crowd boos as Vince laughs sadistically. In the backstage area, the 'Nature Boy' was shown where Todd Grisham suddenly appeared next to him. Grisham asked Flair for his thoughts on this, as Ric looked determined now. Flair mentioned how Vince McMahon has dominated the sports entertainment industry for nearly thirty damn years, and he'll be damned if McMahon tries to drive another fork into the heart of what wrestling is really all about! Flair is here to stay, and there will be nothing, absolutely nothing that McMahon will do about it, because on New Year's Eve 2007, he will find himself in a hospital bed. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |5) Randy Orton def. Chris Jericho to retain the WWE Championship in a No-Disqualification match @ 10:42Our main event was a pretty back and forth one, as the WWE Champion was out here tonight to try and put down the number one contender once again, this time in a match where disqualifications cannot occur, and Y2J was pretty damn close to taking the WWE Championship tonight. Orton was devious as possible, as he pounded on Jericho and worked the neck, a steel chair coming to play and the champ even planned on wrapping it around Jericho's neck to try and break it, but Jericho fired back, soon attempting the Codebreaker, but Orton balanced him on his upperbody, John "Bradshaw" Layfield out of nowhere with the Clothesline From Hell! Jericho was left unconscious and Orton covered for the three. Randy Orton celebrated his win as the crowd booed, the WWE Championship handed to him. JBL seemed happy with what he did, grinning from ringside whilst Chris Jericho remain down with a bloody lip. Orton was then jumped on the outside by Jeff Hardy; his opponent for in over five weeks at Royal Rumble! Hardy and Orton traded blows up the rampway as Orton tried to throw Jeff down, but a dropkick made Orton fall off the stage! Hardy then found a beam of metal in the stage and began to climb up, to the top of the world perhaps, nailing a Swanton Bomb, twenty-five feet in the air! RAW went off the air with 'Hardy' being chanted. WWE HEAT - Sunday 23rd December 2007 Drew McIntyre def. Snitsky Carlito def. -Good promo to kick us off, here, Jericho getting a rematch sounds nice for a big main event, post Armageddon. Especially since you don't wanna hype the WWE Title Match too soon. -Holly and Rhodes over Cade and Murdoch is a strong start for the tag titles. -Kennedy over Smith tonight was pretty decent either way, keep pushing Kennedy. -Triple H over Umaga is the right call as he was out to prove off his lost. -Phoenix over Maria is the right call, definitely. -Regal quoting Flair's retirement is interesting, but I'm sure Flair will atleast go to Mania' considering Cena may not be back and that'll make for a questionable show to say the least. -Orton retaining was the right call, Cena or Hardy look like the only I see to end this reign. -Great RAW; looking forward to where things go from here.

A recap video of the night before is always a very good way to start a show off, and its something that would definitely be needed following the events of Armageddon. JBL opening the show was the right move, definitely a better decision than Jericho, or Randy Orton starting things off. I like Jericho coming out and verbally trashing JBL, very much like what Jericho would be inclined to do. I also like how JBL still has that same air of arrogance that he did when he retired 18 months ago. Regal asserting his authority, very much like him, a good main event for the night, but I suspect Orton will win with help from JBL since its a no DQ match. I do hope that you get the Tag Team Championships off Cody and Holly, there's so many more good teams who could hold those belts, particularly London and Kendrick, but a green Cody and a past it Hardcore won't be helpful for selling PPV's at all. Suppose that the two had to retain thier championships, but I hope thats the only time they do. Jeff and Triple H's story being dragged out a little bit more is good, however, I would like some focus on Jeff and Randy since I'm presuming that some build time will be lost over the next two weeks, the holiday season. Hot-Dog? A bit of innuendo, that's the kind of thing that sets your diary's apart at times, the way you manage to use backstage segments as a way of providing some humour for the reader, something other diaries lack. I do like how Orton is getting some camera time there, a bit of build for the predictable main event. DH Smith is still on screen then for you? Fair enough, but I would rather he was taken off tv, because to me he wasn't ready when he debuted, plus he'd just got caught with a suspension. I like however, how you have DH Smith getting the better of Kennedy briefly before losing out, made him look strong. A final Michaels Kennedy encounter, this time with Kennedy using the Mic Check could be very interesting, and I see Kennedy taking the win. I do hope Triple H stays out of the Jeff / Orton feud, and is built as a potential challenger in the Royal Rumble instead, as that would be much more beneficial for both the match, and Jeff to be honest. I'm sure McMahon will make a match for Flair, fingers crossed for a McMahon Flair match. Triple H again beating Umaga is good for him, and doesn't really make Umaga look that bad to be honest. Maria is going to be killed by Beth I'm sure.. Yeah, just as expected, glad you didn't go for a 'shock' Maria victory. I hope that four way you've just teased comes to fruition, as it would be freaking awesome. Plus, it would be cool to see if the unbeatable Beth could lose the title without being pinned. Okay, some big announcements here, L O V E that triple threat that you've announced, would love a CM Punk win, as the other two could defend thier championships in good matches, where as Punk would be stuck with, well, Big Daddy V, and Big Daddy V? Haha. Solid end to the show with Orton retaining with help from JBL as expected, love how Jericho's lip was bloodied in the Clothesline. Jeff with the huge Swanton was a very nice touch, and seeing as the end of the year show is being hyped, I'm going to presume he'll have a fortnight to recover from it, and Orton will have a fortnight to as well. A really solid show here, Dan, all you need to do is stick to something, as you have the ability to be the best around here, and you aren't giving yourself the chance to show it! Look forward to reading the next show dude, keep up the good work! (:

ECW on Sci-Fi - Tuesday 18th December 2007 - Rochester, NY We kick off ECW on Sci-Fi tonight with a replay from Armageddon just forty-eight hours ago as it was the ECW World Champion, CM Punk teaming with SmackDown!'s Kane against the monster combination of Mark Henry and Big Daddy V. However in the end, it was Big Daddy V that planted the ECW champ with a Samoan Drop, which must put V on the heels of Punk. The opening video package aired to start off the show, and we cut to the arena where pyrotechnics go off and Joey Styles and Tazz introduce us to the show and promote the main event with ECW World Champion, CM Punk taking on the WWE United States Champion, MVP. The theme of Big Daddy V hit as the crowd booed, the fans not too please to see Matt Striker lead Big Daddy V and Mark Henry out to the arena. The trio of carnage got into the ring as 'Our Teacher' began to talk over the microphone about how impressive his two man fleet are, a wide grin on his face. Striker notes Henry and V's road of mass destruction, and the fact that Big Daddy V and Mark Henry defeated CM Punk and the 'Big Red Monster' makes them a force to be reckoned with! Striker tells us that he's spoken with ECW General Manager, Armando Estrada, and in two weeks, Big Daddy V will face CM Punk for the ECW World Championship; but the outcome of tonight's match between Punk and MVP will determine the stipulation. Striker laughs, as the theme of CM Punk hit, and the 'Straight Edge Superstar' made his way to the aisleway, asking what Striker's intentions was. Big Daddy V took over, stating that if CM Punk wins against MVP tonight, he gets to choose a stipulation for a match in two weeks. But if MVP wins tonight...Big Daddy V chooses! The crowd boo but Punk smirks and nods his head, telling Big Daddy V that it should be pretty fun tonight. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |An advertisement aired, promoting the WWE's annual Tribute to the Troops, shown on NBC this upcoming Sunday on Christmas Eve from 9PM. 1) Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore def. The Miz and John Morrison in a non-title match @ 7:45This combination of Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore has especially been on the case of the WWE Tag Team Champions as of late, as Wang Yang and Moore continued their offense and chase for the WWE Tag Team titles with this non-title match. They seemed unstoppable as the match progressed, easily outsmarting the cocky team of Morrison and Miz. It would be Wang Yang that got caught off guard by Miz, and Miz went right to work on the shoulder of him, seemingly eyeing Wang Yang up for the Mizard of Oz, but Wang Yang blocked him off and got the tag to Moore; Moore came in with the high impact moves, Wang Yang soon catching Morrison off guard with the moonsault, hooking the legs for the shocking three! Shannon Moore and Jimmy Wang Yang celebrated their win as the crowd approved, John Morrison and The Miz left in anger as their WWE Tag Team Championships could be slipping before their very eyes. We cut to the backstage corridor as an unorthodox rookie to the ECW roster was shown walking to the ring, by the name of Colin Delaney, and he will be in action, next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |A vignette aired, promoting the debut of a Jamaican freedom fighter by the name of Kofi Kingston, as a man was shown thieving from a market in the sunny country, when courageous Kofi appeared and delivered a big superkick to the thief. Kofi Kingston - Jamaican Sensation: coming to ECW soon! Tazz is in the ring as we return to ECW on Sci-Fi, Colin Delaney in the ring and Tazz introduces Delaney to the crowd, then asking him to tell us about his history. Delaney explains how he came from Rochester, New York [cheap pop from the crowd] before being cut off by the theme of Elijah Burke! 2) Elijah Burke def. Colin Delaney @ 1:08Elijah Burke started this match by offering a handshake to the overnaíve rookie, Colin Delaney then getting a knockout punch right to the jaw! Burke cockily tossed Delaney around, including sending him into the corner and nailing him with the Elijah Express. Burke soon finished the poor newcomer off with the Elijah Experience for an easy win. Elijah Burke celebrated his win to boos, mocking the injured Colin Delaney. Suddenly the theme of Shelton Benjamin hit to boos as the 'Gold Standard' came strutting down the rampway, nailing a much unnecessary Paydirt on the groggy Delaney as Burke looked impressed. In the backstage area we see Layla knocking on Armando Estrada's door, and the ECW General Manager obnoxiously asked what Layla wanted, as Layla noted about how Estrada was looking for a personal assistant and informs him that the job is open, seductively throwing her foot upon the table, showing Estrada up her skirt. Estrada looked in disbelief but then told Layla that she'd have a little competition. At that moment, Kelly Kelly wandered in wearing a chain link bra and a leather skirt, with handcuffs and a hat. The two glared at each other, now having to feud over the spot of Estrada's personal assistant. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |3) Kevin Thorn (w/Mike Knox) def. Nunzio @ 3:33Nunzio was dressed as an elf tonight as the ECW Original had th task of taking on the new look sideshow, Kevin Thorn with Mike Knox. Knox had a dog collar on him as Knox looked as vicious as ever wearing black, almost resembling the days of the Pitbulls in original ECW, and Kevin Sullivan. Nunzio was thrown around but still had offense, however before long he sank to the Crucifix Powerbomb from Thorn. Mike Knox growled as he joined Kevin Thorn in the ring, the two getting boos as they began to attempt the followup attack on elf Nunzio, but Balls Mahoney ran out with a steel chair; Tommy Dreamer with a singapore can and Thorn and Dreamer escaped! The ECW Originals saving their fellow Original, Nunzio in their latest encounter with the New Breed. We cut to the backstage area as CM Punk was shown, the ECW World Champion warming up, and in a few moments, he will be locking it up with the WWE United States Champion, MVP! An advertisement aired, promoting the ECW Best of 2007 episode, next week on Sci-Fi from 10PM. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |An advertisement aired, promoting the next WWE pay-per-view, WWE Royal Rumble; live on pay-per-view on Sunday 27th January 2008 from New York City. We return to ringside as Big Daddy V and Mark Henry stood at ringside as Matt Striker sat on commentary with Joey Styles and Tazz, prepared to watch this match. 4) Montel Vontavious Porter def. CM Punk in a non-title match @ 9:28Such a credible main event as this match was basically for brand supremacy, the SmackDown! brand's WWE United States Champion, Montel Vontavious Porter here to try and take down the ECW World Champion for the blue brand, but also to try and leave Punk vulnerable so that Big Daddy V can choose the stipulation for their ECW World Championship encounter in two weeks. Punk however was as energetic than ever with the bandaged ribs, Punk going to work on the shoulder in hope of the Anaconda Vise, but MVP managed to block it, and Porter went right after the ribs. Punk soon took Mark Henry off of the apron as he tried to get involved, going for the GTS on MVP but Big Daddy V helped MVP down! Punk superkicked V down from the apron but MVP nailed the 'Straight Edge Superstar' with the Playmaker! MVP celebrated his win to boos, as the WWE United States Champion rolled out of the ring. CM Punk remained down in the ring as Matt Striker jumped into the ring, stomping at the ECW World Champion countless times! Mark Henry then scooped Punk from the canvas and delivered the big World's Strongest Slam! Punk wrived in pain before Big Daddy V splashed on Punk! This deadly combination looked sinister as Striker yelled Extreme Rules in Punk's ear! ECW on Sci-Fi goes off the air.

-Good way to open up the show. Nice stipulations for the MVP/CM Punk match. -JMY and Moore going over Miz and Morrison was shocking. Wonder if this means they get a future tag title match. -Kofi Kingston coming to ECW soon is good. Can't wait till his debut. -Burke going over Delaney was obvious. Benjamin attacking Delaney was good as well. -Thorn going over Nunzio is good. Balls and Dreamer coming for the save is nice. -MVP going over Punk because of V is nice as it sets up their match. Wonder what stip will he choose. The heels standing tall is great as well. Overall, nice write up as it sets up for RR.

Solid recap of ECW's bout from Armageddon to begin the show. I will say I like how you put 'which must put V on the heels of Punk', as it gives me a feel for where things are going in the immediate future. Striker starting the show with a promo is a good way to start the show, not sure whether I like you using the term fleet in another diary when involving a team of black men, but thats just a minor gripe. Not sure how MVP fits into the equation, MVP vs Punk could have been saved for the New Years Day edition of ECW, however, its a good main event. MVP could be a good edition to that team as well, but it'd take away from the 'behemoth' look they have. I like the Big Daddy V / CM Punk feud coming to a head on New Years Day in a stipulation match, and I see why MVP vs Punk is happening now instead of then. A good strong opener there with MooreWang ( ) going over Miz and Morrison, could potentially set up a tag team title defense which I am sure the Champions would go over in. Promo's for Kofi Kingston, the 'Jamaican Sensation', really like the idea of giving him a courageous gimmick rather than Happy-Go-Lucky Jamaican, should be good to see how he's used, as he started off very well irl, just hope it can be matched. Colin Delaney debut, should be a good squash for someone. Elijah Burke, yes, someone who NEEDS to be pushed correctly, such a good talent who went to waste in WWE. Shelton coming in and adding to it is awesome, hopefully they are used as a tag team, something I feel should have happened in real life, it would definitely help both men, a very balanced team like Miz and Morrison, with one good on the mic, the other solid in the ring. Really like the idea of Kelly Kelly in a chain link bra, and leather skirt <3 not liking the idea of them two in the ring however, they could be used better as valets for Superstars while honing thier in ring skills in OVW. I like the refrence to Nunzio dressing up as an elf, like he does outside the ring for charity, and a team of Knox and Thorn could be great. I hope you move away from the Vampire thing for Thorn, like in real life, and make them dark characters instead. Really wish that the whole ECW Originals thing could be put to bed permanently, would rather see Mahoney released, and Nunzio continue jobbing, and Dreamer just being 'there' on ECW as a good feud for newcomers. Solid main event as expected, Porter going over with assistance from Big Daddy V and Mark Henry is good. Punk having to face Big Daddy V under Extreme Rules is a great announcement, though it was somewhat expected what with this being ECW. A solid show which followed the 'ECW' format which we spoke about on MSN, enjoyed reading this show, a small criticism to me would be that a lack of Kane involvement, considering his high profile role in recent months, is slightly odd. Stick with this diary dude, its great, and the format flow's nicely and makes it easy to read. Look forward to Smackdown!

WWE SmackDown! - Friday 21st December 2007 - Rochester, NY A replay from Armageddon this past Sunday night aired, reminding us of the triple threat main event for the World Heavyweight Championship, where The Undertaker defended against Edge and Batista in a match that could have gone either way, but in the end, two men dressed as Edge invaded the ring, taking out The Undertaker; Edge sneakily taking the win and winning the World Hevyweight Championship. The opening video package to SmackDown! aired as we cut to the arena where pyrotechnics went off, and Michael Cole alongside Jonathan Coachman tonight, introduced us to the show and promoted Kane taking on Mark Henry plus plenty more tonight. The theme of Edge hit as the crowd immediately booed, unhappy to see our new World Heavyweight Champion; the 'Rated R Superstar' accompanied by Vickie Guerrero and his Edge followers shown as appearing this past Sunday at Armageddon, that aided Edge in winning the belt. The four got into the ring as Edge talked about how great it was to be on top of the mountain again, because it obviously sucked without him around. In his absence he had The Great Khali and Batista idiotically fighting over the belt, and then The Undertaker got it; perfect. Edge swiped at the right moment. Vickie grinned in agreement as the two seemed intimate; one of the Edge followers taking the microphone and reminding everybody that he is Brian Major. Or was, because the fact is he was placed as the twin of Brett, but that isn't their real names. He introduces himself as Zack Ryder, also mentioning how he adores the 'Rated R Superstar' and worships the ground he walks on. His accomplish, Brett Major took the microphone as he introduced himself as Curt Hawkins, saying how they were with Edge because they knew the right path lied with the 'Rated R Superstar'. With this, the theme of 'The Animal' Batista hit as the crowd cheered, Batista asking who invited the ECW rejects. He noted how WWE must've been feeling a little generous this Christmas, giving these two clones jobs. Batista asks them to try and be a little more creative, because he sees two jabronis with a fluke champion and an overweight woman in that ring! The crowd cheer as Theodore Long's theme hit before Edge could yell at Batista, the SmackDown! Co-General Manager announcing that since Edge did win on unfair grounds, but did it in a no-disqualification triple threat match, he will have to live with it. But Edge will now have to put his clones to the test; tonight, Batista will face all three of them, and if he wins, he gets Edge at the Royal Rumble! The crowd cheered as Edge looked pretty anxious. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |1) Rey Mysterio and CM Punk def. Montel Vontavious Porter and Shelton Benjamin @ 7:49This was a match for Rey Mysterio to get his hands on the cowardous WWE United States Champion, MVP after Montel Vontavious Porter cowardly walked out of their title match this past Sunday at Armageddon, triggering a count-out victory for Rey, but failing to win the title. CM Punk also had something to pick from MVP, after Porter had defeated the ECW World Champion with help from Big Daddy V and Mark Henry this past Tuesday night on ECW. Shelton Benjamin and MVP worked well together, working on Rey and keeping him away from the 'Straight Edge Superstar' before Punk got the hot tag, and nailed the GTS on MVP, sending him into the ropes; a 619 from Mysterio! Mysterio covered MVP and that was it. Rey Mysterio and CM Punk celebrated their victory as the ECW World Champion began to leave, Mysterio staying to stand over the WWE United States Champion, MVP and mock him, but suddenly Shelton Benjamin nailed him with the Paydirt! ECW's 'Gold Standard' left to boos. An advertisement aired, promoting Sunday night's Tribute to the Troops broadcast on NBC from 9PM, this Christmas Eve. In the backstage area we see Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore talking to Jesse about tonight's eight man tag team match, and how interesting it will be to team with them. Jesse then pulls on Festus' lifeless arm as he looks two-dimensional as per usual, Jesse then telling Wang Yang and Moore that they're going to go and get pumped up for the match, but then says he can't wait for their 15 Minutes of Fame contention match with John Morrison and The Miz. Wang Yang and Moore look at each other confused. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |We return to SmackDown! as the theme of John "Bradshaw" Layfield hit to the confusion of many, Michael Cole noting how he figured he'd left SmackDown!, sitting next to the buffoon from RAW, Jonathan Coachman. JBL got into the ring to boos, obviously with what has gone on with Chris Jericho on RAW this past week. Layfield tells everybody that he has signed his resignation from the SmackDown! brand and this will be his final appearance for the brand. Layfield tells everybody it's been great to be their color commentator this past year, guaranteeing he's kept Cole in his place and outshone Jerry "King" Lawler. JBL then says that he is going onto better things, such as avenging his attack from Chris Jericho at Armageddon, as it has opened up an old violent side to him, and Layfield is now hungry for Y2J's blood. The crowd boo as JBL smiles, then beginning to leave. In the backstage area we see a limousine pull up, and out steps the 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair to the surprise of everybody in the arena! The man trying to fight retirement, and prepared to take on Mr McMahon in a no holds barred match on the New Year's Eve edition of RAW began to make his way through the building, and it seems as though he means business tonight. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |2) Finlay (w/Hornswoggle) def. Kenny Dykstra (w/Victoria) @ 4:15The 'Fighting Irishman' had to take on one of the more overconfident members of the SmackDown! roster, by the name of Kenny Dykstra tonight, after five days ago defeating the Great Khali in unbelievable manner. Finlay axed into Dykstra and seemed as eager as ever to get the match over and done with, as the theme of The Great Khali began to hit just as Finlay blocked a sunset flip attempt from Dykstra into the Celtic Cross that gave Finlay the win. Finlay celebrated his win, though looked motivated and ready to fight as The Great Khali grew nearer, accompanied as ever by Ranjin Singh. Khali met Finlay face to face in the ring when suddenly Hornswoggle came from behind, a low blow to the Punjabian! Khali looked slightly effected as he turned around and grabbed Hornswoggle by the head but Finlay rugby tackled Khali! Khali stumbled through the ropes as Singh tried running but got caught by Finlay! Finlay clotheslined him down as Hornswoggle went up, the Tadpole Splash connecting! Finlay and Hornswoggle were happy as they had outdone the Punjabian and his translator! In the backstage area we see Chavo Guerrero as he walks into the locker room of Edge's camp, Vickie Guerrero sat with Edge whilst Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins prepared for the handicap match later tonight. Chavo tried to overlook Ryder and Hawkins as the 'Rated R Superstar' told him to be kind to these loyal fans. Vickie jokes, mentioning how Chavo never got groupies either. Chavo asks Edge what he could do for them tonight, Edge telling Chavo he could assist him in the main event... Kane and Mark Henry were shown walking down individual corridors, and their encounter will finally take place next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |An advertisement aired, promoting this next week of WWE television; RAW, SmackDown! and ECW on Sci-Fi all being dedicated to how the year 2007 has gone, television returning to normal from the New Year's Eve edition of RAW in ten days. 3) Mark Henry (w/Matt Striker) def. Kane @ 5:20The 'World's Strongest Man' and the 'Big Red Monster's feud intensity has brewed since this Summer, and it seemed as though it was time for these two massive brutes to go at it once again, as Kane and Mark Henry were on opposing sides at Armageddon this past Sunday, teamed with CM Punk and Big Daddy V representively. Henry went for the neck of Kane, citing it as a heavy weakness of Kane, and Mark soon equalized on the massive splashes, trying to weaken and wind the 'Big Red Monster'. Kane fired back though, and he set up for the Chokeslam but the 'World's Strongest Man' broke free and nailed a big World's Strongest Slam for the win! Mark Henry celebrated the win to boos as Matt Striker laughed along, getting into the ring. Henry grabbed the carcuss of the 'Big Red Monster', Kane getting tossed to ringside as Striker yelled for Henry to keep going, and Mark sure enough picked Kane up, the World's Strongest Slam right through the SmackDown! announce table! Kane looked badly hurt and unconscious as Henry and Striker left together, methodically. In the backstage area we see Chuck Palumbo and Michelle McCool approaching the parking lot where Palumbo was about to sit on his bicycle with McCool, both dressed for a date or something and discussing their plans for the Christmas holidays, Palumbo suddenly interrupted by Jamie Noble handing McCool flowers as handed to him by a fan who thought she was a great person. Palumbo got up from the bicycle, telling Michelle to wait for a moment. Palumbo got up and slapped Noble, telling him to back off from his girlfriend. Palumbo looked vicious as he went back to the motorcycle and drove away happily with McCool. Ric Flair was shown walking down the rampway as the 'Nature Boy' seemed to have an announcement for us out here on SmackDown! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |The theme of the 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair hit as the crowd cheered and wooed in honor of the legendary, former sixteen time World Champion arriving on SmackDown! for the first time in a while. Flair began to talk about how he hasn't really touched SmackDown!, he's been more of a RAW man, but last year he spent the darkest days of his career here, when he could have experienced so much better, and so much more. Flair tells the fans that he wants to give SmackDown! one last try before retiring, claiming that he will defeat Vince McMahon on New Year's Eve, and after that, as the biggest slap in the face to McMahon; the 'Nature Boy' will juggle with retirement on all three brands: RAW, ECW and SmackDown! The crowd popped as the theme of Flair hit, the 'Nature Boy' leaving. An advertisement aired, promoting the Royal Rumble; live on pay-per-view on Sunday 27th January 2008 from New York City. 4) John Morrison, The Miz, Deuce and Domino (w/Cherry) def. Shannon Moore, Jimmy Wang Yang, Jesse and Festus @ 7:14An action packed eight-man tag team match for what it was, as the WWE Tag Team Champions, John Morrison and The Miz sensed the negative atmosphere going into it immediately, the fact they were teamed with Deuce 'N' Domino, former champs themselves. As well as facing the two men that scored an upset victory over them this past Tuesday night on ECW. Festus was in at the start and he mowed through the opposing team with ease until Miz got the ring bell and rang it, making Festus vulnerable. The crowd cheered Festus on as he soon got the tag to Jesse; Jesse dashing in and taking down the Greasers before Shannon Moore got the tag, a corkscrew moonsault attempt on Morrison blocked by his knees, and the Mizard of Oz gave Miz the win! The crowd booed as The Miz rolled out of the ring with John Morrison, Festus infuriated once again. Festus chase the WWE Tag Team Champions up the rampway, though on the New Year's Day episode of ECW on Sci-Fi, Miz and Morrison put Shannon Moore and Jimmy Wang Yang on the Fifteen Minutes of Fame challenge! Batista was shown walking down a corridor from his dressing room, and he will have to overcome the odds of Edge and his clones if he wants a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble...next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |5) Edge, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins (w/Vickie Guerrero) def. Batista @ 11:27'The Animal's opportunity was here and now, as Batista did battle with the 'Rated R Superstar' and his new found hencemen, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins, and during this match it seemed as though Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman genuinely didn't know which was which. Batista repeatedly ploughed through them, but Batista was soon caught up by the number's game. Vickie Guerrero being at ringside didn't help too much either, as the match resumed. Ryder and Hawkins soon connected with a double Edgecution on Batista and Edge seemed to set up for the Spear but Batista threw Hawkins in the way! Batista nailed a spinebuster on Ryder before nailing an interfering Chavo Guerrero with a massive spear! Batista turned around to get the sudden Spear from the World Heavyweight Champion, Edge desperately covering with the victory! The crowd booed with hate for the 'Rated R Superstar' as Edge was helped up by Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins; the three celebrating with Vickie and Chavo Guerrero, the World Heavyweight Champion commanding Ryder and Hawkins to set Batista up, then slapping him across the face and yelling at him about how he won't be getting a title shot. Edge then booted 'The Animal' in the face, yelling 'Merry Christmas'. La Familia celebrated as a union over an unconscious Batista as SmackDown! drew to a close.

-Realistic stip for tonight's main event of SmackDown. Looking forward to that. -Mysterio and Punk as well as MVP/Benjamin are great teams. I felt it was basically revenge for Mysterio and Punk as they were in feuds with MVP. -Finlay over Dykstra was the right call here to advance the Khali/Finlay feud. -Henry over Kane is good. Hope Henry's push goes strong as well as a push for Kane. -Big exciting eight man tag match here. Miz and Morrison really needed this one. -The Edgeheads and Edge over Batista was the right call as they would have looked weak losing 3 on 1. -Good show; can't wait to find out who #1 contender will be.

your first week in this diary is complete, and i'm loving it thus far. the armageddon-fallout Raw was good. i liked the jericho/orton rematch and continuing the build of the jbl/jericho feud. the hype to the BIG three-hour new years eve raw has been great. ECW was nice, it brought back memories . i hated how the new breed/originals feud was booked, so i have high hopes for the thorn/knox team. nice build for the show in two weeks, BDV/punk in extreme rules for the ecw title should be good. SmackDown! was fun. i can see you doing wonders with the SD tag division. i liked la familia going over and costing batista his title shot at the rumble, i feel like somehow teddy long will throw in a loop-hole or something. i'm pumped for the special tri-branded three hour raw along with the royal rumble. keep up the good work, dan.

WWE Tribute to the Troops - Monday 24th December 2007 - Tikrit, Iraq The opening video package kicked off this special presentation on NBC, showcasing the mutual respect by the WWE superstars of the RAW brand with the hard-working soldiers in Iraq fighting for their country, the United States of America. This played to 'Better Days' by the Goo Goo Dolls. We cut to the outoor arena where the soldiers seemed thrilled to be here as Michael Cole and Jerry "King" Lawler called pre-taped commentary from Stamford, Connecticut's WWE Headquarters. Mr Kennedy made his way to the ring to boos, but he still gained the soldiers' respect, as he hugged them on the way to the ring, comedically reaching for the non-visible microphone from the sky, then beginning to talk through a normal microphone about how amazing the troops are and he hopes they kick some ass in this war. The soldiers loved it. 1) Chris Jericho def. Mr Kennedy @ 12:33Chris Jericho and Mr Kennedy fought back and forth as Y2J went right after the shoulder of Kennedy, both of these men very respecting of the troops and the US military forces. Jericho seemed enthusiastic to end this match as soon as possible, almost applying the Walls of Jericho twice but Kennedy was too slippery. Kennedy went for the knee of Jericho, stretching it but not trying to make Y2J tap out by any means. Kennedy soon went for the Mic Check but Jericho dodged it, using Kennedy's own position against him as Y2J nailed the Codebreaker for the win. Chris Jericho celebrated his win as he left the ring and dived out for a crowd surf with the US troops. They were pleased, as Y2J seemed very happy. More footage of the WWE superstars meeting with the troops on the trip aired to the sound of 'Times Like These' by the Foo Fighters. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |We return to the Tribute to the Troops to a video package of soldier-made paintings and features of a mess hall damaged in a suicide bombing in 2004, which killed nineteen soldiers. These played to the sound of 'So Far Away' by Staind and 'Best Days' by Graham Colton. In the ring, John Bradshaw Layfield was shown to boos, as he began to talk about somebody who truly represented America, himself! The crowd cheered JBL's initials as he then began to talk about somebody who did not appreciate this country at all, his name being Jeff Hardy! The crowd booed as Hardy's theme hit to a loud reaction, the WWE Intercontinental Champion making his way to the ring wearing a painted face of the United States colors, Hardy asking Layfield about what's wrong about being against war. JBL told Hardy that he didn't appreciate who Hardy thought he was. Hardy then told Layfield that he's happy for these troops, but they need to come home a soon as possible. The theme of Umaga then hit as we prepared for the next match. 2) Umaga (w/John Bradshaw Layfield) def. Jeff Hardy in a non-title match by disqualification @ 8:37These two have had countless battles over the past year or so, as the WWE Intercontinental Championship was not on the line tonight, Hardy with the high offense to start off the action, and it worked effectively as the 'Samoan Bulldozer' was caught off guard by the unorthodox actions of the 'Rainbow-haired Warrior'. Umaga went after the spine though, and he stretched Hardy like no tomorrow, Soon enough, Umaga went for the splash from the top but Hardy dodged it and nailed the Twist of Fate; JBL slipping into the ring with the American flag but Hardy took him out and nailed Umaga with the flag himself! Jeff Hardy dropkicked Umaga through the ropes as John Bradshaw Layfield looked angry, the WWE Intercontinental Champion obviously loving America and these troops for all of their work. A video package aired, showing seevral soldiers being reinlisted in a wrestling ring and a slideshow of soldiers meeting with WWE superstars to the sound of 'Happy X-Mas' by John Lennon. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |An advertisement aired, promoting RAW tomorrow night on USA Network, a Best of 2007 episode from 9PM. A video package aired, showing the soccer stadium used for the venue and it's violent history, then getting it all prepared for this show. 3) Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly and Mickie James def. Beth Phoenix, Layla and Victoria in a Santa's Little Helper six-diva tag team match @ 3:35These six divas represented all three brands as the WWE Womens Champion seemed happy to be here, but unhappy with the fact that she was forced to dress up as Mrs Claus. Mickie James took her down repeatedly as Layla and Kelly Kelly traded blows throughout. McCool was given a Widow's Peak as the match neared an end, Victoria then getting a kick to the gut by Mickie and the Mickie DDT gave Mickie the win! Mickie James celebrated the win as she celebrated with the troops here in Iraq, Kelly Kelly and Michelle McCool celebrating by ripping the short shorts off of Layla, leaving her in bra and panties! The soldiers wooed as Layla retreated, Beth Phonix simply leaving by celebrating with the troops in another area in the audience. A video package aired, showing John Cena appear on the tour, remaining inactive from his pectorial tear and giving the troops a heart-felt speech about fighting for their country, then hanging out with the soldiers. This played to Daughtry's 'Feels Like Tonight'. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |4) Rey Mysterio def. Carlito @ 6:07Rey Mysterio came out sporting his US flagged mask and pants as the luchadore was out here representing all of the troops that loved him immensely against the Caribbean weasel from RAW, Carlito. A back and forth bout where Carlito took advantage of his size in comparison to Mysterio, Mysterio was unable to get too far whilst Carlito had him hooked in the abdominal stretch. Mysterio would break free however, and soon catch Carlito off guard, wooing the US military with his agile moves. The 619 and Droppin' the Dime finished Carlito off. Rey Mysterio celebrated his win with the US soldiers in Iraq, stagediving onto the many loving soldiers in support of him. Vince McMahon, Chairman of the company was shown seated and talking to many different soldiers around the Camp, as McMahon mentioned in snippets from an interview about how freedom of speech is an American matter, and these guys are doing a great job, but he really wishes they were home. A heart felt speech was spoken by the Chairman to the soldiers as 'Feels Like Tonight' played again. An advertisement aired, promoting WWE Royal Rumble, live on pay-per-view on Sunday 27th January 2008 from New York City. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |We return to the Tribute to the Troops as D-Generation X's theme hit, and the soldiers explode with enthusiasm as DX, Shawn Michaels and Triple H arrived and began to talk with microphones about how they loved the US soldiers and that they were a prideful bunch, and they hoped that they all kick some ass for DX out there, but tonight they kick Mark Henry and Randy Orton's ass! 5) D-Generation X def. Randy Orton and Mark Henry @ 7:50DX were definitely the fan favorites, but the 'World's Strongest Man' was the guy to enter with the American flag draped around him. The WWE Champion was here to try and take on both Shawn Michaels and Triple H, both of which he has defeated this past year, and both of D-Generation X were looking for their retribution. Orton methodically worked on the leaner 'Heartbreak Kid' as Triple H jumped in with the tag and began to go to town on the WWE Champion. Mark Henry soon gained momentum however, working on the ribs of the 'Cerebral Assassin', but soon Shawn Michaels would nail a Sweet Chin Music on big Mark, Mark turning around to get the Pedigree and that was it. Randy Orton backed away from the ring as Triple H and Shawn Michaels began to celebrate with the American flag Mark Henry had earlier; the military audience cheering D-Generation X on, and Tribute to the Troops cut to one last tribute to the sound of Daughtry's 'Feels Like Tonight' before going off the air. -Jericho/Kennedy is a strong start to the Iraq edition here, Jericho winning was the right call. -Umaga over Hardy to retain the gold is the right call here, not sure if hitting someone with the US Flag would come off as respectful, but anyways, Hardy standing tall is the right call. -Decent matchup to get the divas in here, the faces winning and the stripping of Layla was great. -Great match for Carlito and Mysterio. Mysterio winning here was obvious as Mysterio is supportive of the Troops. -D-Generation-X over Orton and Henry was the right call and it's the same reason as the others. -Good show; glad all the faces won as this should be a happy day for the Troops. Keep it up.

WWE Monday Night RAW - Monday 31st December 2007 - Greensboro, NC RAW opens up this week with a video package from two weeks ago, where the Chairman of the WWE, Mr McMahon came out to the ring and announced that on New Year's Eve, he will be the one to kill the illustrious career of the 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair in a no holds barred match. Other instances of RAW showed Randy Orton and Chris Jericho's back and forth rematch, just for John Bradshaw Layfield to intercept Y2J's chances of winning the WWE Championship. However in the end, it would be Jeff Hardy taking out Orton, including knocking him fifteen feet from the stage, then going twenty five feet up on the stage platform and nailing a massive Swanton Bomb. The opening video package to RAW starts as we cut to the Greensboro Coliseum where pyrotechnics go off, and Jim Ross and Jerry "King" Lawler introduce us to the final edition of RAW in 2007. 1) Shawn Michaels def. Mr Kennedy @ 8:37In a rematch from Armageddon three weeks ago on pay-per-view, it was Mr Kennedy's final opportunity to try and win one over on the 'Heartbrea Kid', Shawn Michaels as Shawn started off with some high offense to get the crowd pumped, all the more irritating Kennedy. The battle resumed as HBK was locked in a dragon sleeper, unorthodox to WWE these days. Kennedy worked the neck before HBK fired back preparing the Sweet Chin Music, but Kennedy ducked it and tried the Mic Check: HBK rolled through and nailed Kennedy in the skull with Sweet Chin Music for the win! Shawn Michaels celebrated his win as the crowd cheered, the 'Heartbreak Kid', Mr Kennedy rolling out of the ring in anger as HBK mocked him in the ring. What a way to end an amazing year for Shawn Michaels in 2007, whilst tragic for Kennedy. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |In the backstage area we see Mr McMahon in William Regal's office, talking about how he wants the RAW General Manager to enforce strict security ensuring no interference in tonight's match with Ric Flair, whatsoever. Regal tells McMahon that this could cost a lot, and he's not sure if they can fund it. McMahon looked at him fiercely, reminding Regal that the Chairman was a billionaire. With that, there was a bang on the door, and in came Umaga. The crowd booed as Regal told Umaga that tonight he will have the honor of having one of the first Royal Rumble qualifying matches tonight with a randomised opponent. Umaga nodded his head, as McMahon smirked, asking the 'Samoan Bulldozer' if he fancied doing McMahon a favor... In the backstage area we see Triple H watching RAW as Todd Grisham asks the 'Cerebral Assassin' for his thoughts of tonight's no holds barred match with the 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair, his idol and best friend; and the Chairman of the company and father-in-law, Vince McMahon. Hunter told Grisham that he's got bigger concerns with Jeff Hardy. He tells Grisham that if Hardy gets trouble with Randy Orton and his cheap-ass tactics, he will be there for the 'Rainbow-haired Warrior', but if Hardy wins the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble...he will be hunting Jeff like an animal. 2) Paul London and Brian Kendrick def. Rory McAllister and Robbie McAllister in a Royal Rumble Qualifying match @ 2:01This was a rematch from RAW two weeks ago, as Paul London and Brian Kendrick; the former World Tag Team Champions competed with the Highlanders and Robbie and Rory of the Highlanders seemed very motivated to get this win, after being out of loop in the past few months. Rory worked on the sleeper hold on Kendrick, trying to ground him, but it didn't last long as London got the hot tag and he came in with plenty of high flying moves. Moments later, the 450 splash by London on Robbie finished it. Paul London and Brian Kendrick celebrated their win as the crowd cheered, the first two participants in the Royal Rumble match revealed tonight as the combination seemed quite satisfied. Rory looked unsatisfied with the loss as Robbie recovered. A replay of the WWE superstars' visit to Iraq this past month was shown, showing highlights from Tribute to the Troops as well as many moments with the RAW superstars and the US soldiers all playing to the sound of Daughtry's 'Feels Like Tonight'. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |We return to RAW as Santino Marella stood in the ring, the crowd booing as he had Maria on his arm as per usual, the fiery Italian beginning to talk about how recently his girlfriend, Maria has been mistreated by many superstars and Marella is refusing to stand for it anymore! Marella reveals that Stone Cold Steve Austin, Jeff Hardy, Triple H, all of the big dogs on RAW have mistreated them and he is a potential futue WWE Champion, they all just need to wait and see! The theme of Carlito then hit as the crowd booed but looked confused, as Carlito wandered out, Marella wondering why the Caribbean joker was coming out here. Carlito told Marella that he agreed with him, if anything. Marella looked happy as Carlito told Marella that the two are on a brand where they are unappreciated by many, and he doesn't want to stand for it earlier. Santino asks Carlito if he wants to be best friend forever, as Carlito comedically told Marella to cool it first. Carlito offered his hand but Marella hugged him in joy! Maria facepalmed, looking out of place. John Bradshaw Layfield was shown arriving at the Coliseum, as the newly signed RAW superstar didn't look too happy. An advertisement aired, promoting the next WWE pay-per-view, the Royal Rumble; live on Sunday 27th January 2008 from New York City. In the backstage area, we saw Todd Grisham standing by as the 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair strutted across the screen, Flair looking as enthusiastic as though tonight was a World Championship match with Harley Race; Flair all riled up for the encounter with the Chairman, Vince McMahon. He reminded us of how they were partners once upon a time, but how those times turned to dust because of McMahon's ignorance! He tells Vince that he thinks he's going to receive the weak side of Naitch that they've seen for a long long time. But not today, not tomorrow, and not a week or month or year from tomorrow! Flair firmly says he is definitely sure he does NOT want to retire anytime soon. He woos before walsing off to prepare for tonight some more. The ECW World Champion, CM Punk was shown walking down a corridor in the backstage area, and the tri-brand battle of the World Champions between Punk, Edge and Randy Orton is next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |3) CM Punk def. Randy Orton and Edge in a Champion of Champions triple threat match @ 12:19This match was specially set up two weeks ago on RAW by the Chairman of the company, Mr McMahon as he announced that the winner of this match would not be pressured to defend their brand's World Championship at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, and this was just an unpredictable turn of events. CM Punk seemed to click with the much more massive and popular Edge and Randy Orton as the former Rated RKO surprisingly went after each other. This was a real triple threat match, as Edge was the sneaky and methodical one tonight. Orton and Edge both did go for the ECW World Champion (whom tomorrow night will face Big Daddy V in Extreme Rules for the belt), as Orton also tried the RKO on the 'Rated R Superstar' just for Edge to slip out and Spear Orton out of the ring. At this time, CM Punk would deliver a sudden GTS to the World Heavyweight Champion, and Jeff Hardy ran down to ringside, trading blows with the WWE Champion and Punk stole the win! CM Punk celebrated his win as the ECW World Champion had shocked everybody tonight by overcoming the odds and defeating both the World Heavyweight and WWE Champions. Edge rolled out of the ring in absolute shock whilst Randy Orton was left looking upset on the rampway; Jeff Hardy on the top of the ramp smiling! In the backstage area we see Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly talking about how they need to try and find some new opposition. Coincidentally at that moment, the World Tag Team Champions were faced by Carlito and Santino Marella as the crowd were amused, Santino standing dramatically and issuing a challenge to the champs! Cody laughed, Holly accepting with a slightly angered look on his face. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |We return to RAW as Jeff Hardy was suddenly shown being slammed into the wall, as the camera panned out and the WWE Champion, Randy Orton was shown frowning, angrily stomping away at the WWE Intercontinental Champion as the WWE Champion shoved him into a vending machine. At that time, the 'Cerebral Assassin' himself, Triple H wandered out with a sledgehammer in hand, warning the WWE Champion to stand down. Orton smirked as Hunter turned to attend to the 'Rainbow-haired Warrior' when Orton suddenly kicked Triple H in the spine! Orton scooted along the hallway with an evil smirk. 4) Umaga def. Matty Sydal in a Royal Rumble Qualifying match @ 3:25The 'Samoan Bulldozer' was surprised with the issuing of this newcomer to the company, named Matty Sydal, a talented small wrestler with the look of a new Paul London. Sydal showed a punkish appearance as he went into this looking concerned, and with that he should have been: Umaga really tore into the much smaller Sydal, thrashing him with heavy-handed lefts and rights, storming at him with powered moves, but Matty showed heart, a few kicks and springing from the ropes with a tornado DDT; getting the 'Samoan Bulldozer' by surprise. Umaga soon flattened him with the Samoan Spike, but Sydal was covered, and Sydal kicked out! The youngster was then put away with a big splash for three. The crowd booed Umaga as he predictably had qualified for the Royal Rumble match. But the fact is that William Regal had handed out this match to the 'Samoan Bulldozer' with Umaga thinking it would be a walk in the park, and that it was, but this youngster, Matty Sydal had proved a lot to the world, the fact he had kicked out of the unavoidable Samoan Spike and put up a fight. William Regal was shown watching RAW in the backstage area, and the RAW General Manager seemed impressed with the tenacity shown by Matty Sydal moments ago with Umaga. Regal showed motivation to sign him as Regal was interrupted by Vince McMahon again, now in ring attire as Vince told us he was ready for battle and to put the knife in the heart of the 'Nature Boy'. Regal smirked, asking the Chairman that if Ric did win tonight, how about if next week, Jeff Hardy face him...McMahon declined, calmly saying that tonight is the night. McMahon tells Regal to make Jeff defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship instead. Regal laughed, as McMahon told Regal another idea; how to make RAW much more interesting. McMahon illustrated a brand called 'RAW Roulette' to the crowd's approval. Regal told Vince that that was a good idea, and so next week, Jeff will defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Mr Kennedy, Vince grinning, Regal then announcing that Chris Jericho will face Umaga next week. Vince is happy, then rubbing his hands together and leaving. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |5) Beth Phoenix and Charlie Haas def. Mickie James and DH Smith @ 4:43The 'Glamazon' teamed with this mysterious masked superstar in a singlet by the name of 'Haas', but DH Smith quickly unmasked this 'Mexican' goofball to reveal it was indeed Charlie Haas beneath the mask. Mixed tag team action, as Beth Phoenix and Mickie James went at it, obviously some unfinished business between these two over the WWE Womens Championship. Smith manhandled Haas at every attempt, Phoenix and Mickie brawling out of the ring before Haas suddenly came out of nowhere with a brass knuckles shot from his singlet, into the skull of Smith, and that was it. Charlie Haas celebrated his win as he put his mask back on to the crowd's disapproval. DH Smith remained out of it, and Beth Phoenix made a getaway up the rampway with her WWE Womens Championship. We see Chris Jericho in the backstage area as he was talking to Pat Patterson about this recurring situation with John Bradshaw Layfield, and at that moment, Y2J was nailed in the spine with a steel chair, from JBL! Layfield smirked as he told Patterson to shut up. Patterson then attending to Y2J whilst Layfield dropped the chair and walked away. We see Mr McMahon with Umaga in the backstage area, requesting he let no member of the RAW, the SmackDown! or the ECW roster enter the arena and get past him. Umaga nods his head, as McMahon headed for the ring, the 'Samoan Bulldozer' enforcing security, McMahon faces Flair in no holds barred next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |6) Ric Flair def. Vince McMahon in a no holds barred match @ 12:30The 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair was battling for his career tonight on RAW as the Chairman of the company was as cheap as ever wearing a black sweater, in which he pulled a baseball bat from, beating Flair repeatedly with it and covering countless times for near falls. Flair was cut open by it, but he kept going, sending McMahon from the apron into the announce table and then slamming the bat into the knee of McMahon; Flair obviously preparing a Figure-Four Leglock. However as Flair bodyslammed Vince, John Bradshaw Layfield came through the crowd, a Clothesline From Hell connecting! JBL frowned as the crowd booed, not sure why he was out here. Suddenly Chris Jericho ran to the ring and dropkicked Layfield out of the ring. Umaga followed, angry at Y2J as Flair nailed him with the bat, McMahon with a sneakup rollup just for Flair to kick out and a big chairshot to McMahon gave Naitch the win! Ric Flair celebrated his win in this violent no holds barred battle to retain his career. Mr McMahon was laid out, blood trickling from his head whilst Chris Jericho and John Bradshaw Layfield had disappeared, brawling through the crowd. Umaga looked angry, attending to the Chairman before grabbing Flair by the neck! The theme of Triple H hit as 'The Game' ran for the ring, sledgehammer in hand and he cleared house! Flair and Triple H celebrated together as RAW in 2007 drew to a close. WWE HEAT - Sunday 6th January 2008 Nick Nemeth and Matt Bentley def. David Owens and Sean Kiniski Trevor Murdoch def.
