Hi,
Can someone please tell me how much the Mattel Steel Cage Ring retailed for when released.
Trying to get hold of one for my sons bday in September, seen some on ebay but interested to know how much they were in shops.
Also, does anyone know when the EC is due to be released?
Cheers in advance.

I remember the Steel Cage Match was around $40 at Kmart when it was first released. Not a bad deal, especially since it also comes with two figures. I just posted my review of this playset today, if you need some reference pics. I hope you can find a decent deal and get it for your son. I think it's a neat playset but some of the online prices out there are a bit ridiculous!
I wish I knew when that Elimination Chamber was expected to be released and which store will carry, it looks nice! I don't think there's any new info about that playset yet, though.

it's a TRU exclusive, should be hitting the shelves any time now.

Cool, thanks for the heads-up, I appreciate that, Bill! I'll be keeping my eye out for it, I can't wait to see it!

Cheers, seen your pics today Micro, it looks really good. Saw one on ebay that went for about £40 inc postage, was watching it but was back too late to bid. Gutted.
I'm hoping to pick up the EC as his xmas present so as long as its out before then i'll be happy. My local TRU store in the UK is usually pretty good at getting the Mattel stuff in so i'll keep an eye out.

There is one of the Steel Cage rings up at my Sears Grand I saw yesterday...think it was in the mid 30 dollar range. The cage ring was an Argos exclusive in the UK, mate. It was in the catalogue that was released this time last year. They were still selling them up until the new one came out last week, I think. They were £34.99. I bought one the day it came out but returned it because I found the ring too small and confined. I'm sure it would be great for your son though, I'd have loved it as a kid.
Side topic: Has anyone tried the Jakks cell (not the real scale one, the Armageddon one) on a Mattel Elite ring? I'm hoping it will fit it as a cage.

Bigraj - cheers for posting the pics.
That looks pretty cool actually - the cage is pretty much pressed against the ropes, but at least its playable and a good fit for the ESR.
If I cant find the steel cage playset I may use the chamber on my ESR as theres loads knocking about on ebay.

Can someone please tell me if the ring that comes in the Mattel Steel Cage set, is the same type/size ring as the Raw Superstar ring with the springy mat?
Thanks

Thanks for the pics, bigraj! Could the sides be taken a little further back and just fill in the gaps in the corners with some scaffolding from another set (like the scaffolding from the Jakks Money in the Bank set, for example?)

Hadn't thought about it, and I don't have another playset to even try it out. Sounds like a good idea.

I've managed to find a Mattel cage on ebay for my Mattel Raw ring.
Has anyone tried a Jakks Hell in a Cell over a standard Mattel ring?
Just wondering how it will fit, whether the Jakks cell is to big?

The Jakks real scale cell would be way too big for the small Mattel ring, but the smaller Jakks cell (the Armageddon one pictured above) would work fine. It'd still be pretty big, because the Jakks ring that went with it was a bit bigger than the Mattel ring.
