I was just thinking of that mold of an unproduced LJN Sgt. Slaughter that used to occasionally show up on eBay. Whatever happened to it? Does anyone here own it?

Don't think it ever sold, the seller had it at a ridiculous price.
Sure he'll try again in the near future.
I think it was said before but i'd love someone to buy it and then cast about 100 of the figure to sell on.

Not gonna happen; the mold won't sell cheap and the risk that it breaks when using it to produce figs is too big...

I think stom has the mold (the one with slaughter saluting) but it looks like a reverse mold (don't think it can be casted)?

The seller of those molds sold a bunch of them years ago and I think stom picked up the first couple and then the others never sold. I still think they are bogus but without having one in my hands I can only speculate.... The main reason I think this is because of all the molds that seller had you would think ATLEAST 1 of the character prototypes would have been seen at some point in time plus the fact it looks like a reversed plaster mold?

Wait, there were other molds of unproduced wrestlers?

I remember quite a few of these molds being sold at the same time from the same seller, and Slaughter was the only one "unreleased." I know for a fact he had a Jimmy Snuka one as well.

Wait, there were other molds of unproduced wrestlers? ... Not unproduced wrestlers but some were of released wrestlers in different poses and there was a few molds of actually released figures, Jimmy Snuka was one as stated above (which I think stom has that one also, not positive).... All these were being sold years ago before mold making and duplicating (like woodrow toys) became popular so there was slim reason to believe they were not authentic unlike nowadays where you really need to question protos,etc....

Just like alot of others, I would love to see some of these, and maybe even purchase some. I've only seen the slaughter and snuka. Anyone have old pics of any of the others? One thing though that I was always curious about with the slaughter mold is that it is said, and appears to be that it was made using a modified mold of jummy snuka. If that is the case and this mold is genuine, why would LJN all of a sudden start to use modified molds to create a new figure? One thing that made their line special was the fact that each figure had a unique sculpt. Either way though, I'm with familyguy84 in that I would definately buy a casted figure from that mold, or better yet I'll buy the mold and cast one for everyone that wants one. -hope the owner is reading this...

Maybe Snuka was an afterthought to Slaughter and once Slaughter was gone they went with Snuka and retooled the mold.
The first series was kind of interesting how there were nine figures that first year on the card backs they were pictured different times. Like the first five were Hulk, Studd, Andre, Snuka and Sheik then came Piper, Dog and Hillbilly and Volkoff was added later.
