Sources inside WWE say that Shawn Michaels knees are in the worst shape of his life and his career may not last much longer.

They should just give he more time off to heal up. I'd hate to see HBK retire... again. ;/

Its hard to imagine wrestling w/o guys like HBK. He's been around the WWE for almost 20 years, I basically grew up with him. Even though I'm a huge Bret Hart fan, I have nothing but respect and admiration for HBK. He's a great wrestler, athlete, and person and I pray that the WWE does the right thing and gives him one more title run.

i would be very sad if shawn had to retire, he's one of my all time favorite wrestlers, but if hye has to retire then that's what he has to do. not everyone can be ric flair & go until they're 60.....thank god

They should have him be a manager to some guy that he "trained" and, gimmick-wise, this wrestler does similar stuff that HBK does.

He is a double tough bastard, he will stay around for a bit, guaranteed.

Ugh. For his sake he needs to give it up. He really has nothing left to prove, and I for one can say that I dont want to see him 5 years down the road in worse condition than he already is, just because he wanted to push a little further.... with all due respect to Shawn.. he needs to hang it up... for his sake.

I will be happy when he retires. He's had a good career, he's getting old now. He could take over JBL's job on SD!

They could stick him in a wheel chair and he could still outwrestle half the roster

As much as I've enjoyed Shawn's work over the years, I think he should wrap it up before things get worse. Between the always wearing caps/cowboy hats to cover up his male-pattern baldness and his stiff walking/running the ropes because of his knees, it's safe to say he's a shell of his former self. Sure, he can still outwrestle the majority of WWE's Raw/SD/ECW rosters, but is all the traveling and wear and tear on his body worth it at this stage of his career? He's already proved his Hall-of-Fame status and really, there's nothing else for him to do other than build up the younger talent. I hope that Shawn doesn't let wrestling retire him like it has so many other guys over the years, because he still has a family and (what could be) an easy life relaxing back in San Antonio. He's, no doubt, secure for his future with all the money he's made over recent years with WWE. Shawn could still make the occasional limited appearance on WWE television, and earn a nice paycheck that way. In my opinion, it would almost make sense to have a Career vs. Career match at WrestleMania between both Flair and Michaels, have Michaels win and then face a similar situation later on in 2008 or at WrestleMania 25 in 2009. Shawn deserves a proper send-off, but I hope it doesn't come early at the expense of worn-out knees and a body ready to leave the wrestling business before he does.

If his knees are terrible then he should retire, dont end up like Terry Funk.

that would be too bad if its true. It still amazes me that he came back and can still put on great matches and take big risks. When he left WWe for awhile I thought he was done for sure.
I was actually hoping he would beat Cena for the title....then my hopes went to him beating Orton, but I think I have to realize his championship runs are over.
