PWInsider.com is extremely sad to report that former UWF and All Japan Triple Crown champion Steve "Dr. Death" Williams lost his battle with cancer last night, passing away.
We will have more details as we receive them and would like to pass our deepest condolences out to the family, friends and fans of one hell of a great athlete.
For thoese that don't know he was battling throat cancer on and off for years and was recently re-diagonsied after being cancer free for four plus years.

I remember watching Dr. Death in the old Mid-South territory before it became UWF. He was always one of my favorites! I remember cheering hard for him when he and Flair wrestled to unify both the UWF and NWA titles! He will be missed! R.I.P. Dr. Death!
