The best way to tell is the packaging - the bottom child hazard label goes all the way across the bottom of the package on the re-release, as well as a 8+ on the side of the packaging.
For the original, there is a smaller hazard label on the cs1 packaging

This really belongs in the Jakks board. But to answer your question, the heart logos on his tights are BIGGER on the original CS 1 figure. The re-released logos just look too akwardly small.

I've been out of the figure game for so long, I know don't even know who makes what now. Thanks for the answer.

I wished HBK was in Series 1 instead of Dusty Rhodes.

I wished HBK was in Series 1 instead of Dusty Rhodes. I wish Mattel used the same line up for Jakks Series 1 then the guys they used...

The rerelease is also missing the tattoo on his arm. Also if you can see them side by side you can see the rerelease has slightly darker 'cheaper' looking skintone as most of the last few wwe jakks lines did.

The best way to tell is the packaging - the bottom child hazard label goes all the way across the bottom of the package on the re-release, as well as a 8+ on the side of the packaging. For the original, there is a smaller hazard label on the cs1 packaging This is by far the quickest and easiest way to differentiate the two.
