Those are pretty cool. I wonder if they were the same size as the old LJN ones.

weren't some of them released? I could swear that Jakks made some thumb wrestlers like that, and am almost sure that Owen Hart was released, and possibly that Ahmed.

I think it was the whole Playmates morphing into Jakks Pacific, ala the Ringmasters and Grudge Matches. Owen, Ahmed, Shamrock, HBK, who else? I don't remember, but they made it.

Wow, you don't know how happy this post makes me. I have wanted to buy these particular Lee's Toy Reviews and have sought pictures of Toy Fair 1998 for several years now, but have always come up empty. I have been fighting a fever/cold/possible flu off for the last day and a half and this has made my weekend. Before I say anything else, I just want to say thank you for scanning these pictures. The thumb wrestlers prototypes were supposed to be series 2 of that particular line, but they were not released. Series 1 included Undertaker/HBK, HHH/Mankind, Stone Cold Steve Austin/Owen Hart and British Bulldog/Ken Shamrock. Other notable differences: -The Slammers Series 2 Patriot figure did not come with any black detail on the front of the mask (unless that's just a shadow covering the gold paint). -The glossy finish and overall hand-crafted details of the prototypes did not always transition to the final product. -I like the Slammers 2 yellow card, but the RandR figures do not belong in anything other than a box; seeing Taker with that carding for the first time does not look as good as I would've thought. -RandR HBK's attire underneath his entrance chaps was red, not blue, in the final product. It is pretty awesome to see these pictures, though, and I look forward to seeing others if you have them.
