I just finished reading the quarterly reports from WWE's Stockholders meeting. One of the questions that McMahon was asked if there was any progress in starting separate regional WWE orginizations around the globe to take full advantage of the global market and turn the biggest possible profit. Vince said they weren't interested in doing so and thought that it wasn't in their best interest.
Regardless it got me thinking about how it would be set up and lots of different things so I put this together and was curious if anyone else though it would work.
Regions : Titles:
North America ( Exclusive Titles )
North West HW Title
US Championship Title
South America ( Exclusive Titles )
South West HW Title
Latin American Championship Title
( Common Titles )^
Frontier Tag Team Titles
All-American Championship
Europe ( Exclusive Titles )
European HW Title
Mediterranean Light HW Title
The Orient ( Exclusive Titles)
Far East HW Title
Far East Jr. HW Tag Team Titles
( Common Titles )^
Eurasia Tag Team Titles
Eurasia Light HW Championship Title
South West Pacific ( Exclusive Titles )
Greater Oceanic HW Title
Television Championship Title
Greater Oceanic Tag Team Titles
( Globally Contested Titles )*
Undisputed World Heavyweight Title
Undisputed World Tag Team Titles
Intercontinental Cruiserweight Championship
^ Common Titles are defended in both regions they represent. The Wrestler(s) forfeit their exclusive regional title upon winning a Common title.
- New champions will be crowned via tournament
- Upon losing a Common title the Former Common Title champions become
#1 Contender for regional titles of same class.
*Globally Contested Titles are defended throughout every region and every PPV
- Rules for New and Former Common Title champions apply to Global
champions
14 PPVs Per Year Between 5 Regions
N. America - 2 Exclusive
S. America - 2 Exclusive
Europe - 2 Exclusive
The Orient - 2 Exclusive
SW. Pacific - 1 Exclusive
Common PPVs
Royal Rumble - 5 representatives from each region in Rumble match
Survivor Series - 3 Traditional Survivor series matches each year*
SummerSlam
Wrestlemania - 1 representative from each region in Money in the Bank Match
King of the Ring - 2 representatives from each region
*2 Survivor Series Matches separated by Region with the 3rd separated by Northern and Southern Hemisphere
(note - Only Common and Globally contested titles are defended at Common PPVs)
Each Region has Exclusive TV day each week (Taped or Live)
I feel that if this was the set up for the current WWE the "Big 4" PPV's (5 in my model) would be larger than life and feel even more special than they do already. There is countless upside to a model like this and just from sheer nationalism would get viewers more emotionally attached.
Anyways, Thoughts?
